You also said that as long as the Cavs looked as good as they looked, lebron would stay.

I never thought Lebron would go to New York...I didnt think the team was fit to win ..their pieces looked bad and the same thing applies here...If I am Melo and I say I want to win..THe knicks wouldnt be my top choice. The bulls would be...They have better pieces in place and a good young coach...the worst the knicks play the more it hurts their chances...

knicks have so many things working against them:

1)losing
2) coach that dosnt emphasize D (melo knows this)
3) ex players complaining of their treatment

huge PR hit the knicks have taken, at the moment, id put the chance of melo coming here as bleak at best

please, lebron turned down a billion dollars from NY "marketing" market

its the most overrated line to be played

CC sabathia came to NY, won a ring, i dont see him much on other than marketing subway sandwiches....this NY marketing angle is so overplayed

+ 10. Couldn't have said it better.

Amare, Douglas (defensive point guard), Chandler (defensive SF), Gallo (offensive SF) and Walker looked bad? lolz

I guess Miami having Mario Chalmbers as the only member on the roster during July looked WAY better.

I wouldn't put it as bleak. I still think we are favorites but that position is in jeopardy if things don't change. I don't see how any of that makes him going to NOH more likely.

NOH and Chicago are only being mentioned under the assumption that Melo is traded by the deadline. In a trade they can both offer a max extension.

But if Melo waits until the summer - I got it at 99% he signs in NY.

Well yeah, if Melo makes it all the way to the summer w/out an extension, he's going to NY. I wouldn't even put it at 99%. It's a 100%.

NY fans who are arguing that he would absolutely not go to NOH or Orlando or Dallas or whatever team swoops in to try and trade for him before the deadline...I'm not saying any of these destinations are preferred. But what we have to fear is would Melo settle for one of these locations that would give him the security of an extension while still allowing him to play with an established superstar like Paul, Dwight, or Dirk?

I personally was never concerned about NJ cause I didn't see any reason why Melo would be willing to lock himself into a lineup with just Brook Lopez and Devin Harris, and be stuck in Newark while waiting for a move to Brooklyn. But on a team with legit championship potential? I can't be so sure.

Basically, I'm reminded of when Rasheed Wallace all but promised that he'd sign with NY when he was a FA in Portland. Then he gets traded as an expiring to Atlanta. And gets shipped again to Detroit, wins a championship, and completely forgets his vows to us.

NOH actually had an advantage they would trade him for him already or even try to show interest. But they do not and will not.

I would want Melo here only in one scenario: If he is a committed Knick who is achieving his childhood dream to be in a Knick uniform. There would be no other reason to gut the team for him. I am not in favor of changing the coach/GM/or the water boy to appease him or any other player.

Actually, Lebron to NY was a lot closer to happening than people realize. His camp almost had him convinced, but he always had his weak heart set on Miami.

Name them, because I bet everyone of them is either already a contender that is not looking to add Melo, or not as good of a fit as the Hornets.

Remember when everyone was trying to say LeBron going to Dallas was gonna happen? LOL

Why would Melo go to NOH? Why would he even go to Chicago?

yea i know, youre making my point

any team that offers that combo is AHEAD of NY, then it gets filtered down to who can do a S and T, a deadline trade, and who has his buddy on his team, and even after this filtration, NY still isnt on top of the list due to the 3 reasons i mentioned

Actually the Hornets have the potential to have max cap space this summer.

Only if West opts out and signs elsewhere...and also than they would have only around 16 mil free if Salary cap stays at 58 mil.
