One project guy (albeit pricey one) I wouldn't mind taking on would be Thabeet. Grizz seem set at C with Gasol and their whole front line is a very good unit. I can think of alot of bigs who took a few years to develop like Robert Parrish, J O'Neal, Tarpley, Laimbeer etc. If the Grizz are waivering on him, I'd go for it and develop him. He's young and still developing, not #1 overall pick in the draft good, but I think he'll work hard and become a real good player in time.

I've never seen anything out of Thabeet that has led me to believe he'll do anything but continue to suck.

True. He's terrible. He's overtaken Darko and the Kandi man in the battle of draft busts.

I thought he was gonna be a stud shot blocker, whoops. I'd still like him as a project, but not for #2 pick salary. When you type Thabeet in to google, auto-fill's first suggestion is "Thabeet bust", thats rude

There has to be something wrong. No way it's a coincidence he gets treated like this on two seperate teams

When the coaches for those two teams are Nelson and D'Antoni, I'd agree that it's not a coincidence. But because they're both either crazy or stupid.

Probably. It makes you wonder what he'd be like on an established team, like Boston or San Antonio.

I just put a Brewer+Koufos for Curry+Randolph trade into the trade checker and it works out. I wonder if that'd be something they'd consider at the deadline if a Melo deal isn't on the table. They save 6-7 million straight away and get a chance to look at Brewer, as well as adding big man depth in Koufos who fits D'Antoni's system on paper at least. Curry gets waived immediately and it opens some time at both the 4th wing and 3rd centre for Randolph, if the team wants to try out his versatility.

Oh, BTW, Curry has a -1.8 PER according to the trade machine. LOL.

Maybe a trade is in place, and they don't want to risk him getting hurt?

Ronzone said we were looking to add an athletic 4/5 ...?

If he didn't have issues, he wouldn't be gettable. The hope would be that he just needs the right situation.

Berman's blog in the NY Post

http://www.nypost.com/p/blogs/knicksblo ... GkmrcqHu9H

Marc Berman wrote: Mike D'Antoni made the bold move tonight in Sacramento, giving Anthony Randolph his first DNP as a Knick.

It was not the politically correct move with Knicks brass which regards Randolph as an intriguing prospect. But it was long overdue. If the Knicks weren't playing at Golden State Friday night, Randolph assuredly would be a DNP again, coming off tonight's huge, streak-busting 113-106 win over the Kings with a Randolph-less rotation.

Nothing about a trade - mostly about getting his head on straight. Of course, Berman doesn't think like RealGM'ers do.
