Evans SF?!
Hey all,
I troll here from time to time and my time to crawl from under the bridge is here again.
The Israeli media reported that as a result of this losing streak, Tyreke will move to the SF position, while Beno and Cisco will be the ball handlers. The article states that Westphal would like for Evans only to finish the plays and not to start them.
Any truth to this, or is it just a delirious reporter?

Re: Evans SF?!
Even if he is listed as a sf on court his role will be the same. I havn't heard this yet but i would assume garcia would be gaurding the 3's.

Garcia has probably been the most consistent player on the team next to tyreke and we need offense so i can see this. I don't think tyreke's role will change in any way its just a way to get more offense out there as much as possible.

Re: Evans SF?!
I sure hope that this report is false. Seriously Westphal? Tyreke is a two guard, not a three. He can't shoot all that well as it is, now having him guard taller three's won't help out too much. If he indeed was going to shake some things up, he would of been a smart coach by moving one of Beno/Carl to the bench and bringing in Cisco to play with Reke. I'm fine with Casspi starting, we don't have anything else really besides Donte and we all know he isn't going to get any burn.

It appears to me that they are regurgitating drivel brought forward by Ailene Voisin as though it were an actual credible idea. http://blogs.sacbee.com/sports/kings/ar ... sco-i.html
While there may be more rotation changes in store, I highly doubt it would be as drastic as changing the roles of Tyreke or others on the roster. Cisco could very well be moved into a starting slot (although I still prefer him off the bench). However he would start at the 3 and do what he has always done...be a solid perimeter player. The only change I would see involving Beno and Reke would be to get Beno more involved in plays.
This space needs to be filled with a new sig...but I'm too lazy to make one.

Re: Evans SF?!
honestly, as said, doesn't matter anyway his role will remain the same unless it's two smaller players. He might guard SF's but he's been doing that some of the time anyway.

Re: Evans SF?!
i think beno needs to be moved to the bench. the reason we lost the phoenix game was because there was no one on the court that could guard steve nash. PW took garcia out of the game and nash killed us cause beno can't guard him. a lineup of garcia tyreke and casspi would be better than beno tyreke and casspi or beno tyreke and garcia any day of the week.

Re: Evans SF?!
I honestly think Tyreke's 'ballhogidness' is exceptionally over-discussed. Yes, at times he does something stupid and holds onto it too long. But then games like the Phoenix match come along and he's making such an impact without scoring. He should ALWAYS be handling the ball, IMHO. He needs to pass more, true, but you wouldn't take the ball out of Kobe's hands just because he's not a PG.

Who said that? If it's true, that's a bullcrap lineup. Your tallest guy at SF? LOL. And there's no way in hell Head deserves to start.

JT at the 3 can be a good matchup but you actually have to use him in the post! Otherwise I do agree it makes no sense.

I think Head gets somewhat of a bad rap. I've really liked his defense, yes, he shoots too much and way out of the course of the offense but if they used in right he could be valuable.

Like that's going to happen with Landry and Daly already in the post. Does Westphal have any idea how spacing works?
Tonight would be the perfect game to start Donte. He has the size and quickness to stay with Gallo, and with the Knicks being the Knicks, they can't defend Donte no matter how poorly he's playing.

I like his defense too, but that doesn't make up for the bonehead plays he makes. He should not start.

i think you are right. it will suit perfectly the overall attitude and competence of most of the reporters here.

Evans was brutal last night on those two final crunch time possessions. Wow.
Something has to change. A position switch needs to be tried.

Re: Evans SF?!
I think a style change is in need more. This team relies on the draw and kick far too much and a good chunk of the time Westphal has a lineup out there that can't shoot well enough to make it even close to viable.
Tyreke has done a good job of getting into the paint, as clogged as it is most times, and kicks it back out to somebody that either passes up an open look or tries to get the ball back inside.
This team needs to focus on post play and allowing Cousins to take some of the playmaking pressure off of Tyreke.
