Flynn to the D-League?

Man, sounds like he may be in rough shape with all these reports. If he plays three games in the D-League that could mean he wont be back for weeks. Even then, he will probably be off. We might not see the real Jonny until after the all-star break.

I kind of like the idea of letting him get the kinks out in the dleague. Baseball does something similar quite a bit.

I think our news on Flynn has been speculative. I would not worry about it too much. Soph curse.

At least it's not like Thabeet to D-league status.

Extra time to decide what to do with Telfair/Gaines.

I like both. Gaines play some decent defense. Telfair can set up his teammates better. I want both. Could we combine their powers into one super being to make me happy?

Sebastiata Gelfiar sounds like a name given to an eastern European supermodel.

I don't understand the negative connotation that comes with playing in the D-League. This is not a particularly bad thing, this is why the league is there. It had a positive effect on Thabeet and albeit a different scenario it makes sense to let Flynn shake off the rust down there while we figure out what we are going to do with Flynn-Telfair-Ridnour. Lazar Hayward should be playing in the D-League too, give him a chance to work on his game.

But for #2 picks, they should not need to be sent down.

Thabeet should not have been a #2 pick.

Why does 3 games in the D-league mean he won't be back for weeks? Flynn playing in the D-league indicates that he's healthy enough to play.

In Flynn's case, it's not negative. Which was my point. In Thabeet's case, while it's arguable that it helped him, it was clearly a demotion for someone picked so high.

Lazar should be sent to the D-League. It will keep him active.

I'm guessing Lazar probably will be sent to the D-League once Webster comes back, but until then, he's needed in case one of our guys gets into foul trouble.

Let him play a few games in the D-League if he isn't ready yet. There's no need to rush his return. It's better to have him back fully healthy than putting him in when he's not ready.

I think this is partially because Telfair is playing so well. We don't want to have the team take a step back while Flynn shakes off the rust.

Thabeet was buried behind Z-Bo and the other Gasol. He wasn't getting many minutes. Who cares if he had a stint in the D-League, thats why it is there. That is exactly what I mean, it shouldn't have these negative connotations. If say a Derrick Favors falls out of the rotation in favor of Humphries and Murphy, he is better off getting minutes in the D-League. Same with an Evan Turner if he started losing significant minutes to Lou, TY, Iggy, and Noc. Or even Wes if he was being blocked by Martell, B-Easy, Brewer, and say like an Ellington was outplaying him. Who cares about labels and statuses. Minutes in the D-League are better than rotting away on an NBA bench. It is unfortunate a guy like Darko never had an opportunity to play in the D-League.

I'm not sure how much getting some run in the D-League helps them compared to practicing against/with NBA players and coaches. It would be different if the D-League were set up like the minors in baseball, or if the Wolves had full control of their team like the Lakers or Mavs. Especially when a team runs a system like the Wolves do.

It helps some guys, but I'm not sure how much it would help someone in Lazar's situation.
"A while back,'' Cardinal said, "I took a picture of the standings and texted it to Love, just to bust his chops,'' Cardinal said. "He sent me a picture back of a snowdrift.''
