The Jazz still need a two guard. Bell is nice and does more for this team than we have seen statistically, but we need a two guard that is a bit more dynamic.
I would be willing to move Memo for a guard like that if someone would have it.

Re: Jazz thoughts
The only trade I see out there that works financially is Okur for Cory Maghette!
We have to trust Big Al gets better at center and Fes gets better. We play Evans and Kirlinko more at Power Forward, and Kirlinko, Miles, Hayward, and Evans at Small forward. Maghette, Miles, Bell, Price and Hayward at shooting guard. Not to Shabby!!

Re: Jazz thoughts
Memo for Jamal Crawford works. Jazz would likely be getting a rental, but could get out of Memo's contract a year early if he isn't in the long term plans, and the Jazz would only have 45 million dollars heading under contract heading into this off season.

Atlanta does this because........they need a center coming off of major knee surgery? AND they feel like paying the injured center through 2012?? Plus they lose the reigning 6th man of the year?

I agree about the slip, I have wondered on several occasions why he doesn't try it. Hopefully things like that come with time in the system.

Atlanta does this because Jamal Crawford is a lame duck right now on that team. To compete against the Boston's and the Orlando's in the East you need a big guy who can spread the floor and bring the C's out. Also the more bigs you have the better when you are facing a line up of KG, Shaq, JO, Kendrick Perkins and Big Baby.
And I am not saying you are trading Memo now, you trade him at the deadline after he has come back. Obviously no team is going to trade for him right now.

I see your point. Don't get me wrong, I am for trading Memo, but I think this offseason is more likely. Assuming he can come back from this injury. He'll be an expiring next year and more valuable to other teams. Of course if he comes back this year and meshes well with our revamped team, then things change....

Ok, stat geeks. Are CJ's stats starting to reflect what my eyes were seeing?
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

He's played two consecutive good games. Given how rare that's been in his career, I'm happy to see it. Thing is, the fact that he's played well recently doesn't suddenly mean he was playing well before.

CJ's advanced stats are insane this season, but are boosted by Raja having one of the worst statistical seasons in the NBA right now. He's playing great though.

I'm not sure what it is about our 2nd unit but they seem to a big factor in some of our wins so far.
They don't score much but they allow don't allow many points either. It's as if the opponents are a little confused by our energy and speed.

^^^^I love how out second unit just gets right up in the grill of the other team. And Price and Watson can do that because to have Fes and Elson back defending the rim.

Re: Jazz thoughts
Jazzfan1971, I got to hand it to you on your thoughts first of all. I think, especially to date you called it was very well called. But I think your conclusions are different than me and of course I wanna give mine to.
Jefferson isn't as good as I thought either, His rebounding needs to improve but his interior defense is tons better than Boozer and that is part of the reason of the Jazz success....the easy baskets of the opponent aren't coming for them. BUT, milsap is the difference maker there over last year's team. Ok maybe a combination of the two.
I've always liked CJ and have really blamed Sloan for his lack of success just because I love CJ's thrash and slash play. He should use his outside shot as his 3rd priority option just to keep the defense honest. He is best when he moves around with the ball to get a shot 10 feet and in shot. Of course he isn't there but he should have a similar game as Kobe. (Kobe shoots too much from the outside btw). CJ has enough jump on his legs to create his own shot and he his a good enough passer to open up his teammates when he slashes too. Sloan's system is first priority for a reason but it doesn't really fit into CJ's game. I do see Sloan letting CJ carry the ball on occasion and D-will shifting to the 2 guard spot.
BTW. I love the FAST line up of watson and Price, geniu!!!, and that is just what the Jazz need. The one bad thing I would say about D-will is he stands around with the ball sometimes and just evaluates the defense like he is going to go one-on-one. That slows the team down too much and they only get out of it when they decide to run the ball fast-break style.
