Went over by five minutes but I think I did pretty well. I was much more successful today than I was yesterday. Was ready to keel over once the squat jumps started though. The only thing I'm gonna remind myself of was how amazing I felt in the cool-down and now when I'm done.

Nice. IMO Day 3 isn't bad, Shoulders and Arms. Lots of curls and stuff and you'll be sore, but not as overall exhausting as the first two days. Then Yoga next, which actually is hard as hell (but I'm a 6-4 inflexible mofo).

I hate Yoga, it's 75 minutes of hell. I just got done with P90X+ Upper Plus, I'm dying. But it's worth it.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Re: OT: P90X/Health and Fitness Thread
Question for you fitness boys.
I'm down to 190, which on my 6'2" frame isn't bad. This p90x thing is to get me over the hump, add a little muscle, get tone, etc. But I've lost all my weight almost solely by eating better and eating less. Three meals a day, not crap, no food after 7:00. It's totally worked.
But since I started my new job I'm out in the middle of no-where and the food options are limited. The best is this pizza joint across the street which has an amazing salad bar. Usually I just get a good salad with lean meat and light dressing to go. But they also have a pizza buffet that tempts the hell out of me.
I realize that losing weight is just calories in vs calories out. Eating a couple slices once in a while probably wouldn't end the world, especially if I eat sensibly at night. But would it set me back in this workout program?
I don't know anything about this kind of stuff.

As long as you eat reasonably well overall and just limit the bad food, you will be fine. Really, if you're looking to maintain your current weight (before starting P90X) and increase the tone, you want to increase your caloric intake from before you started P90X, since you're burning a lot more calories now, especially on the cardio days. As long as a minimal amount of those calories are crap, you'll be able to accomplish that goal. I also recommend eating a good amount of healthy calories right after doing it (maybe shake + peanut butter toast), but I'm sure you're already doing that.

I (personally) think some people go overboard on how little they eat when they want to lose weight and things like that. I don't think it's necessary unless you want to look absolutely flawless or something.
I recommend eating six times a day actually. A light snack, then breakfast, another light snack, lunch, light snack, dinner and then call it quits for the day. Keeps the metabolism up high.
If you eat pizza once or twice a week for lunch and have an unhealthy dinner or two every once and a while, it shouldn't totally destroy your progress or anything like that. The main thing about getting and staying in shape is continuing to work out and stay active, IMO. Obviously it doesn't "help" to eat those things and your progress might be slightly faster if you eat the perfect foods all of the time...
But everything in moderation pretty much. If you are going to get pizza, eat a slice or two... Not five. If you are going to get a burger, then get a single cheeseburger and don't make it a double, skip the fries maybe.

Re: OT: P90X/Health and Fitness Thread
I am the poster child of what NOT to do when it comes to eating. Now I lift weights about 4 times a week and do cardio for 20 minutes 4 days a week. I also play on 4 different soccer teams so that keeps me active as well. Those that know me, know I"m pretty toned and the furthest thing from being out of shape.
However, my diet is AWFUL. I don't eat breakfast, I usually eat a very small lunch and then I gorge myself at dinner and eat doritos and the what before dinner. It's the strangest thing how I can continue to look and feel like I do, but eat so crappy.
I don't take any protein or supplements either. People keep saying it will catch up on me, but I turn 30 in less than a week and it hasn't yet. Hopefully if I stay active like I have and continue to play at a high competitive soccer rate I can continue eating how I do, because I've been doing it so long it would be hard to stop.

Steroids, IMO.

Yeah, my guess is that if your activity falls off, the diet will catch up to you with a quickness.

Re: OT: P90X/Health and Fitness Thread
I'm the same way steger, although I eat reasonably well now (I used to eat awful and drink like a fish). 6-4/185 and probably ranging between 5-8% body fat for the last 10 years. My bigger issue is putting weight on, which many will say F you to, but it's been frustrating not being able to. My brother has, but he has been in a college/Euro workout program and I cannot fathom how much $$ worth of food he puts away in a day. It's appalling at times how much he can throw down.
I think a lot of it is genetics though. My dad has weighed within 3 pounds of his weight since age 25, and he's 60.

Thanks for the info kids.
Ugh. As good as I felt yesterday, that's as worked over as I feel today. Tuesday's plyo has completely kicked my legs in the ass.

I have the same problem man. I have finally given up on trying to get bigger. I've tried about 4-5 different workouts in the past and given up after about 8-9 months because I see no progress. I would have been encouraged by even a little progress... But I get absolutely nothing.
So now I'm just going to focus on cardio, ab work and getting stronger instead of bigger. About all I can do.

Re: OT: P90X/Health and Fitness Thread
I've pretty much given up too. I'm using P90X to get super lean and more in shape cardio wise. The days of playing 20 hours of basketball a week are over, unfortunately.

If you really want to get in shape, on your off day instead of stretch X or rest go to the local indoor pool and puts some laps in. Throw in different strokes and you will work many different muscles out.
