Erick Dampier or Jake Voskuhl?

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. - The Lakers have spoken to free agents Erick Dampier and Jake Voskuhl about possibly signing as a replacement for Theo Ratliff, who is expected to be out at least a month after he had knee surgery Monday.

I know that there is currently a laker girl who used to hook up with dampier while he was in Dallas.... I wonder if the managment knows about this, It could sway him to fill the lane for us.

One big problem...

Dampier will only sign for a full contract, and apparently the Lakers only want a temporary fix at center(10 day contracts).

So realistically, it's Voskuhl or a no namer.

not sure whats the problem withdampier personally i dont see any problem with him being signed for two years after all having another quality big wont hurt the team, and next year we dont have ratliff so i dont see the problem

Requirements as follows ::
Be 6'11 or above
Be 260 LBS or slightly above
Know how to move your feet
Know how to put your hands up
Play 6 to 10 mins per game
Be willing to leave when we tell you too
Use a Mac and not a PC

I think we need someone who can stay healthy and is big. They don't have to be good, they just have to have the ability to stay healthy. Dampier isn't the most healthy guy day to day but he rarely has any real serious injuries so I'd be all for it.

I think Dampier is the guy to get but I wonder what the rotation will be like when Ratliff and Bynum are healthy during Jan, Feb. Voshkuhl is also nice they can bring him in on a 10 day contract if he shows something keep him around if not let him go easily.

We had Jake in Toronto and he was okay in his role... I would rather go with Dampier if he is willing to understand and accept his role

I had totally forgotten that Boone was still available he could actually be a long term answer at backup C for the Lakers. Good shot blocker and rebounder terrible free throw shooter not much of an offensive player and he's only 26.

like I said in another post, if GSW found 2 servicable guys in Dleague we should be able to find at least 1 decent big there. Dampier sounds nice but when a team like Hou who is already pretty weak at the C spot passes up on him along with Mia, there has to be something wrong with guy even though we are brining him for the backup spot. For Jake, dam I dont even remember when he last played in this league.
