Re: Nets @ Kings
We're much worst offensively than I thought we would be as a team overall. I was expecting Lopez to be our main consistent scoring threat and score about 22 points this season. Those expectations are looking pretty silly right now. He might just need a full season and the next offseason to really bulk up and get back to playing the way he was last season.

I think Avery expected that as well. Lopez has been a disappointment so now the 1st option on offense is either Harris creating or a play for Morrow/Outlaw which ever is on that night. They dont even bother going to Lopez that much because it does not pay off.

Devin and Brook looked like they were saving their energy for tonights audition in Denver.I understand Avery decided he wasn't going to let Evans beat him but I think you have to let your best player try to get a stop, instead of giving up a wide open shot.

I actually liked the call at the end. a) the decision to play it out, try to get a stop, it would leave 4 seconds with a time out, plenty of time to score. Better shot to get a stop then to count on missed FTs. I would have been ok with fouling too, but i think this was a more ballsy call. b) I loved the quick double at the end of the shot clock. It came as a bit of a surprise as everyone was just standing there in their defensive stance waiting for Evans to attack, then out of nowhere, boom they send another guy at him, put pressure on, he just made a good play and Urich hit a HUGE shot. It happens. Maybe he could have ran the double right away and tried to cause a turn over early, but i really like that the double came with some what of an element of surprise. It think it was a smart call.
