Game 10: 'Hawks at the Taints

Game 10 Seattle on top of the NFC West heading into the super bowl champs for Reggie Bush's return. Tough game, but by now we know anything is possible.

Injury update:

Seahawks-
Me- that's right I ruptured a disc in my lower back, so this creation will be brief while I'm semi upright.
Okung (LT) is is looking probable. Cole (DT) ankle is fatter than even normal. Tate(WR) iffy with an ankle sprain. M-Robinson(FB) is possible with a hammy. Mike Gibson out with ankle sprain(G) McCoy iffy with a knee issue(TE)

Taints
Bush is back, other than that, I'm too messed up to even research their injuries.

Things to Watch:

1-Okung... back? Looking good? leads to any ground game for us?

2-Matt's arm, probably not a big deal unless the saints target it and we see CBJ again.

3-TE's Baker has been a one man seahawk injury machine. Carlson... been playing like he wants to see how good Anthony McCoy is from the bench.

4-Look at that Bush! Not Revenge of the Nerds, but rather is Reggie rusty?

5-Curry sequel? He had a first round pick day last week. Do it again and we'll have to put Carlson's name on the fan's doghouse instead.. maybe...

6- Head Locklear- If Russ is ok to go could we see some andrews or polumbus at rt?

Predictions-

35-21 New Orleans
Too much firepower there and they should start sensing the urgency of the playoff push.

If the Hawks win this game, or it goes down to the wire, my head will be spinning amidst a sea of confusion.

On a less confusing note, I think the Saints win this game somewhat handily. By 10+ points.

Darn. This is one of those games where we have to get into the endzone every once in awhile when we get into the red-zone.

Having said that, a pretty impressive 1st quarter for the Hawks. They're still in it. lol

PS> Okung's presence just makes all the difference in the world for our OL.

21-13 Saints, 1:39 left in the 2nd Q.

Finally crossed the EZ, after settling for a pair of FGs.

Lame helmet-to-helmet call on 3rd down gives Saints 15 yards and a new set of downs. Replay showed no contact, the announcers questioned the call, too. Now the Saints are nearing the RZ...

That call on Brock sucked donkey balls. Bad call. Really changed the complexion of this game.

What a horrible call on the QB hit. Goddammit...we had them stopped. All these rules designed to protect the players are impossible to enforce consistently. That horse collar on Milloy was also a joke last week.

God I'm P'd off at that call. I hate it when refs change the complexion of a game like that by extending their judgment into such questionable territory.

It reminded me a bit of a basketball official anticipating contact and blowing the whistle. Doesn't matter what the defender does, the official has his mind made up. There's no way he saw a helmet-to-helmet, but that was going to be the call regardless.

He should have just picked up the flag and said "oops!".

The difference between them scoring a TD and going up 27-13, and us having the ball with time on the clock down only 21-13 was REAL significant. There's so little margin for error for us playing the Saints on the road.

Oh well. Got to let it go. Onto the 2nd half. We're just going to need to score a lot, and for our D to come up with some BIG plays for us to remain in, or win this game. Doubtful, but we still have a chance as of now.

It is all a moot point if he defense cannot stop the Saints on 3rd Down. It is frustrating...two good defensive plays followed by pure ass.

Why didn't we blitz there? I mean, we can't stop their passing game without it, so you might as well.

Hey! Brees finds a hole in our zone for a TD...shocking.

If this **** announcer says 'crunk' one more time I am going punch something.

It almost seems like TD here or fold up the tent.

And now the inevitable clip of the saints with the "who dey" chant. No team massacres the English language more than the Saints...

Goddammit Lynch. Way to take your only good play of the game and piss it away.

Or take the tent and set it on fire.

It's funny, but outside of a few questionable calls, and some piss-poor missed plays by a few players (Lynch), the offense seemed poised to make a game of this today.

Tatupu misses what would be a big sack. He has been missing tackles all day today.

Well the blitz didn't work there either. Very close to game over, if that point hasn't been reached already.

Our pass rush and blitz packages haven't really put any pressure on Brees today. He has plenty of time and is making us pay for it.
