Is Luis Scola Legit?

Post#1 » by michaelc204 » Sat Nov 20, 2010 12:06 am

I see that hes one of the few (3) players averaging 20 and 10 in the league.

Can he do this for the entire course of the season, and hopefully beyond?

What would you look for if you were to trade Scola?

don't forget Deron Williams with 10 APG
IMO 20-10 doesn't mean anything if your team aint winning
it's just like Al Jefferson is averaging 20-10 in Minnesota and no one give a damn

He's a good scorer the first 3 quarters, below average defense, and disappears in the 4th. He isn't a goto guy though. He's a good 2nd and 3rd player. That's why when we had landry, landry always played the 4th.

he struggled against the defenseless team vs the raptors. sure you have some bad games, but that bad game isnt vs the raptors. scola's a 3rd option at best, and a good rebounder. he hasnt had 10+ boards since the 4th game. we dont have a one or two option

No.

Scola is the heart and soul of this team. Without him the Rockets probably don't have a single win right now.

Not a chance.

And yes, I feel he could keep up the 20/10, he crashes the boards, and is very skilled offensively. He does have trouble however with guarding the perimeter bigs (normally I wouldn't say it's a weakness, since which primarily inside the arc bigs are, but with the influx of all these hybrid 3/4's, it is unfortunately a weakness). Despite that, as TMU said, he's easily our best player.

Don't forget Healthiest too. He has missed, how many games since becoming a Rocket? You can rely on him to be in uniform, night in, night out.

He is our most fundamentally sound player for his position.

Scola will be a Rocket for a few more years yet.

Guy is a flat out gangster. Gets the ball in the high post, dribbles with his head facing the floor and backs down the fender, then spins to the left and throws a hook shot off the glass. I swear he does that play almost every single time in the post, and it works very often.

He has a weird looking shot but it goes in with relatively good frequency. He's a very crafty finisher around the rim with either hand. Scola uses all the tricks and angles to his advantage and you look up at the scoreboard at the end of the game and he's got 23 points 10 rebounds. I dunno how he does it.

He can't guard just about any 4 in the league. He can not score in the 4th quarter with the game the line. In fact, no one on the rockets has shown they can do that.

Harrison Barnes is no John Wall though. I'm not sold on this kid at all.

As a matter of fact, from what very little I've seen, I don't like any of the top prospects, so I'd rather see this team to start winning some games.

yea he seems like gerald green type
my actual plan is to trade the pick for some free agent to be who don't want to sign extension with their team and the team want to get something in return
you know guy like chris paul? (no i don't want carmelo anthony)
if we can get chris paul and clear enough space in 2012
we might get dwight howard to join :D

Return to Houston Rockets
