I'm in the camp that says he's worth holding on to for trade padding. Charlie Bell has disappointed me a lot, and he does indeed suck. But him being your 14th or 15th guy on the inactive list isn't going to make or break a team. I think I've seen about enough of him on the floor, but might as well hold on to him if there is any hope that a trade would require his contract to even things out.

With our almost totally guard dependent style of play, we can't really afford for our 4th guard and only real backup PG to BE the 14th or 15th guy.

I'd contend that at this point Bell isn't the 4th guard, or the backup PG. All the melodrama and foolishness aside, Lin has outplayed Bell and moved into that spot in my mind. Curry/Monta, Reggie, Lin. Now I suppose you could make the point that our team won't function if the 4th best guard is as inconsequential as Lin. I might agree with that. And it should be a no-brainer to dump him if we think he isn't a difference maker and there are better alternatives in the D-League. Why on earth he was given a two year guaranteed deal I can't understand. I also don't follow the D-League well enough to know if there is such a candidate waiting in the wings.

bell appears to be a good defender because he has spastic moves and gets low to the ground when defending but hes slow on his feet and doesnt have great reaction time, thus is average at best. also he thinks hes a scorer and will shoot and shoot. he sucks and is dead weight and probably shouldnt get minutes on any nba team

100% Expendable garbage:
Carney, Bell, Lin, Gadzuric, Radmanovic, Adrien.

I'll add BWright to this list if he keeps sucking but he's certainly an expiring contract to plug in as filler at this point. No keeper status whatsoever now. Jason Richardson trade: complete cash dump failure by still-Team Prez Robert Rowell.

Well, sort of. This thread is where we synch up on the fact that Bell isn't a useful player for us. Then the question is what to do about it. I'd say stash him on the inactive list unless we see a player really looking good or our management knows they aren't event trying to make a big trade. Sounds like you would advocate dumping him now. I don't see either position being the make or break for us making the playoffs this year heh

Oh - and if we're giving outdated hindsight perspectives on trades, I really don't think we should have traded Webber for Gugliotta.

I'm still not a "playoffs this year" believer. And certainly not with our guard depth problem.

For now, or for the future, I'd say dump the demonstrably useless guy and try out some D league talent.

Weaver is an interesting player.
Can't shoot for s***,but somehow gets past his man and great at feeding inside players. Willing to play D. Got lost in OKC and injured last yr. Definitely not a starter, but could be pretty decent 3rd gd,able to play w/either Curry or Ellis.(Lee would love having Weaver feed him.)
Strawberry Jr is similar, better defensively, worse passing.

If Lowry can take charge of Rockets, getting the offense running well and getting wins,Brooks will be shopped when he comes back in Dec/Jan.

Weaver's not a point guard but he's a good defender. Better point guard than CrapBell so let's go.

Fact that he can't shoot well probably rules him out for SmartNellieball.
Oh wait, Charlie Bell can't shoot at all.

Weaver, Stinson both in the game Warriors scouts reportedly at yesterday. Not sure why that was news but at least we can HOPE a possibly legit guard reserve is on the way.

What I like about Weaver is his defense and he's 6'5"...maybe 6'6"....He actually carved out playing time with OKC.

I think Weaver can be a Seflosha type of player. He seems like a smart Bball player, but I can't really confirm that...Just from what I remember.

Haven't heard about Stinson....Update please.

Sessions is the one who may be worth his pay...and he's really not cheap as backups go. Lin has been promising for a guy who's yet to get much action. P Mills ? Maybe but he's yet to get anything going. TJ Ford for Vlad? okay.....no loss, but I doubt it happens.

Curtis Stinson is overdue for an NBA shot. He almost got his breakthrough here, was on a GSW summer team. So far...the best name to come up. PG,can shoot, good size.
