1st time watching Barnes, and one thing I'm noticing is that, Barnes kind of waits for the ball to come to him rather than coming to the ball - he's kind of like Bargnani and DeRozan in that way, in terms of their lack of assertiveness at times.

But. man, he can really shoot it. Had a nice fadeway jumper, and a pull-up J off the dribble. Also, took it to the basket towards the baseline, off the dribble.

Overall, he has 8 pts, on 4-7 FG. Interesting matchup for him, as he's going up against Vandy's Jefferey Taylor, another top SF prospect. That's two games in a row, first with Minny's Reggie Williams, and now, Taylor. Taylor, BTW, has looked pretty good for the Commodores.

Oh, and UNC looks terrible overall. Just horrid guard play.

Yeah he has the skill sets to do all of that and he should be able to create spacing easily, to hit those sweet jumpers but so far he's like Demar, lack of assertiveness. That guy in the halftime report quoted Barnes saying he's not a killer, doesn't demand the ball much. But with those skill sets man he should be though, right now he doesn't look like he's the big impact player like other big prospects (Irving, Sullinger, etc)

Yup, Doug Gottlieb said that. Well, we'll see what Barnes does in the 2nd H, with the team trailing by 10 - maybe he'll come out aggressive in the 2nd half.

Barnes' final statline: 11 pts, 4-11 FG, 5 rebs.

Overall, I can't say anything decisive about Barnes - For one, I think UNC's guards did not do a good job of finding him. Also, this is just one game that I've watched of him, so I'll have to see more of Barnes before I make any judgements.

But, I will say this, and it's something Doug Gottleib noted as well - he just doesn't seem to be the aggressive-type. He's more of an all-around guy, who plays within the confines of the team. And I don't think there's anything wrong with that, but for a team like ours...I think we need a guy who possesses a 'killer instinct' of sorts...'cause he's pretty similar, personality-wise, to Andrea and DeMar.

Tonight, for example, Barnes had a chance to close the game for UNC down the stretch, but he didn't really look for the ball.

That's my early, premature take on Barnes.

I think the ESPN scouts were right about him. He's got a polished offensive game but lacks Kobe instinct lol. The previous games Barnes had open looks. BUt this game the zone defense were pretty good against UNC. I thought the UNC could win this game late they forced so many TOs but couldn't scored off them, weak! UNC isn't going to do anything against elite teams this year, they just SUCK.

Another lack luster game from Barnes last night....

A lot of it is his teammates and coaching. Hes not being used properly. But I don't
see Superstar potential in Barnes. Hes got a nice skillet but nothing special. Hes truly
a jack of all trades master of none type player.

Kyrie Irving really should go first overall.....

I hope the Baylor game is televised on the Rogers Sports Pack tonight I haven't been able
to watch Jones play a college game yet.

To bad Kanter is ineligible to play and Selby won't play till mid December. Looks like the Raps
are gonna Draft lower then we thought.

Drafting lower might not necessarily be the worst thing if we're seeing real improvement on our roster that is translating into wins (the only non-youth players we have on our roster now are Jose, Barbosa, and Reggie).

Besides, we could get lucky and guys like Kanter and Selby might drop a bit because of their ineligibility. And while Kyrie does look promising, there are other solid PG prospects that could be available in this draft in Knight, Selby, CoJo, Harrow, Marshall, and Walker.

If we are out of the top 5, we have to be looking at Brandon Knight(UK), Josh selby(Kansas), Kemba Walker(Uconn) for the pg position. Or see if we can pawn off our pick for rubio. I think kyrie will be off the board when its time for us to select. We're looking like we aren't gonna be THAT crap this yr.

The only thing is Irving seems to be the only "True" PG

Knight seems to be a shoot first scoring PG and with Bayless we kind of already have that.

Guys like DeRozan, Weems, Kleiza, and Peja really need a pass first PG....

Jose has never been good in transition because of his lack of speed and in the half court
gets rattled against a good defense and will Turn the ball over.

And while Selby is not a Pass first PG hell he might not even be a PG.... Hes such an incredible
talent that you just take him and don't look back. Especially if were drafting in the 6-9 range.

Although he's a pass first PG but he's got a decent passing skills from what I've heard.

Can't wait to watch Jones tonight, seen Irving too much already and knows wut he can do, Knight is aite, Jones seen him twice but missed the last big game he had (20 pts), I want to watch him tonight see if he's gonna be on beast mode again.

I think Knight's got 8pts, 2 assists, and 2 rebounds at the half. Wildcats up 14.

Knight is a lot bigger though... I believe he's somewhere inbetween Rose/Wall size-wise. I also think his first step is on the same level as those guys.

Collison has those long arms though. And I'm pretty sure that Knight isn't bigger than Rose, more length maybe.

I think this year's draft is pretty deep for the SF spot, I think we can get something good even at 9-13 or 15-16.
