Chris Kaman wants to play Thursday

Post#1 » by mkwest » Tue Nov 23, 2010 8:02 am

Kaman was originally projected to miss at least 3-4 weeks, but he said he's progressed rapidly in the last week. He's been running on the team's underwater treadmill and the Alter-G (anti-gravity) treadmill recently and come through it well.

The plan is for Kaman to practice Tuesday and Wednesday, then be evaluated before Thursday's game.

Clippers coach Vinny Del Negro was far less optimistic however.

"He thinks that," Del Negro said of Kaman's chances to play Thursday. "But we have to see how he does Tuesday and Wednesday, see how his ankle reacts. If we play him Thursday and it blows up, then he's out again.

"We have to be smart about it. He's a little more optimistic because he wants to get out there."

I say if he's ready he should play. Kaman can at least be another big body for us to use.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

Reading those quotes by Vinny I doubt Kaman will play on Thursday.
And I'm also not sure if Baron will be able to give it a go.

Hey guys i am a Sixers fan. There is a rumor going around about a Kaman for Iguodala trade. Is Kaman any good?

Where's this rumor "going around"?

Kaman's a good center and can give you at least 15/8 if he shoots it at his normal percentag. He just started slow to the season, shooting wise.
And that's why I doubt we'd trade him for Iggy(and that contract), because that would create a huge hole at the 5 for us, while adding yet another small forward(clearly the best of 'em though) and still having Davis on our roster.

So I can't see us doing a trade like that, because we're eithter going to contend and try to add Iggy to the core that is Kaman, Griffin, Gordon and Davis, or we're going to take one step back, try to deal Baron(with Kaman attached to get something reasonable in return) and build around Griffin and Gordon imediatly.

I think the trade makes sense for both teams.

Kaman and Brand referred to each other as brothers and played really well together. They each prefer a different side of the floor and Kaman is much better than he was when Brand was in LA. Brand is looking better and putting a scoring and rebounding big around him like Kaman could cause a ton of trouble in the east.

I like having Iguodala's play making with Gordon and Bledsoe in the back court. His shooting might hurt a bit though. I also liked this deal better a few weeks ago. Aminu has looked better than expected and is doing a nice job starting at SF. I think losing Kaman could end up leaving an even bigger hole at center.
