Yes, our current slump is depressing, but everyone here HAS to admit, we are a different team with Brooks and Yao. And even when Yao is back, It's like walking around on eggshells. It sickens me to see us bottom of the Western conference, and pretty much the entire league, (what third last?) I don't see any quick fixes.

As a team, we are worse defensively than last year, Scola's consistencey is about the only bright spot. We will get better when Brooks returns, and I just hope we can turn it around in someway before A/S weekend.

Something HAS to be done about our crappy fourth quarter play though, it is truly an ugly thing to see.

I fall short of open criticism for the team. Miller was meant to be size as a backup for Yao, I actually think he has played above what should be expected of him. Hill appears to be progressing, and Budinger, well he has hit the wall most white Rockets players hit. It's up to him to push through it.

So... any trade deadline targets that we should be looking at?

Would HOU be interested in a Steve Nash trade? :-?

I posted this on the Trade Board:

I think the "Nash/Hill/Clark to HOU for Brooks/Hill/Jeffries/NYK 1st" deal is brilliant.

Benefits both clubs.

Brooks is whatever - but Suns get big man they need plus a first rounder.

Rockets can get out of slump with 2-3 yrs of brilliant Nash - much like Jason Kidd in Dallas pushing age 38 or 39 and still playing well. Just think of the wonders Nash will do to guys like Chuck Hayes and Scola. You think Chuck is just defense? Nash will make the guy score 10-15 pts in the paint...

And those of u doubting Grant Hill. Don't. He is playing better than ever. Showing more zest than Bud and Batt.

Rockets get better. Suns get better.

only thing i'm concerned with is the 4/5. we could use shane or hill and of corse patterson. i dont like having hayes as the only backup pf/c who can play defense, even if he was 6'10.

You're kidding right? PHX gets to dump their old geezers while simultaneously robbing the Rockets' youth. The bolded also got me rolling. Great trade!

Not sure but we need to improve our defense for sure. We have other deficiencies too, but too many to address. Anyways, Ibaka isn't going anywhere, so i think our best chance is to get Iggy and Prince. I was hoping we could also get a defensive big too. The only one i know is Thompson from Kings.

I think in order for us to really really improve and get a good combo of players is to dangle Yao out there. Alot people are against this, but i think its time to see what kind of offers we get.
