Unfreakinbelievable............
Whiners.

Harp is the best since Hotrod.

So Booner, a man that never missed games and won a championship, is a tard and less knowledgeable than a "tough guy" who managed to miss alot of games and never won a championship?

Got it.

The comparison is pretty pointless.

So is saying someone can't even speak when they stutter a few times.

How hard is it to understand that Boone and Harpring both know what they're talking about, but they're just super awkward and bad at how they actually DO talk about it?

Everyone should really be in agreement in this thread. It's really shocking to me that some people are enjoying listening to Harpring. I love the guy, but he has a ways to go in terms of being a good broadcaster.

I was labeled a Harpring "apologist" by my Jazz community when he was playing, but I have to admit, he's atrocious as a broadcaster. Not only is he annoying, but his powers of observation leave a lot to be desired too.

Someone takes a three-pointer as the shot clock is running down: "What is he thinking? He needs to back his man down and get into the paint."

A guy goes up to dunk the ball, but is blocked or fouled: "He really should have gone for a dunk there, instead of a lay-up."

Harpring is terrible.

He has the same canned thing to say about every situation.

You guys are unbelievable....

I just don't see how he is any worse than anyone else....

We must have the worse TV play by play guys in league history if he is "horrible".

They're definitely not the worst the NBA has to offer, but they're certainly obnoxious in their own right. But like I was saying, it's not just that Harp is annoying (which he is); it's that he incorrectly perceives really obvious situations, then comments on them definitively.

I guess I'm just confused on what these "misperceived situations" are. It can't be worse than everyone else calling Hayward Haywood.

I mentioned a couple earlier. But here they are again, with one added:

- He yells at a guy for taking a 3, instead of "backing his man down," when the shot clock is running down, for instance.

- A guy will try to dunk and either miss or be blocked, and Harpring will say, "He REALLY should have gone for a dunk instead of a lay-up there!"

- Someone will be in the paint and kick the ball out, leading to a wide-open three, and when it's missed, he'll decry the Jazz not playing "inside-out."

And on top of all of that, he's annoying as all hell.

CJ Miles enters the court. Here's what Harpring has to say.
"CJ Miles is a big threat, he just needs to work his way inside out."

Al Jefferson makes a 5 foot jumpshot.
"And that's Al Jefferson's secret weapon. He can hit those all day."

Camera zooms in on Jerry Sloan.
"Jerry Sloan has his top button undone! That means it's game time!"

Utah misses an offensive rebound.
"Utah needs to get offensive rebounds to stay in this game."

And then when he gets a promo to read, he makes sure to make a complete ass of himself by trying to be super good at reading them. I seriously want to strangle him every time I hear him.

I don't know, dude, a lot of the things he says are just glaringly apparent, or aren't insightful in the slightest.

Spot on. That voice he does is terrible. And if you watched last night...Sineage. Let's have a sign contest Friday night! He takes stuff a little too far.

The only thing I liked about Harpring was when they showed the Clip of him dragging around the pink backpack. That was classic, but probably not his idea.

You people need to stop with the hate already! You could pick ANY announcer in the NBA and pick out little sayings that you find annoying or silly.

I hate a lot of the announcers in the NBA -- most of them for their homerism (which Matt is definitely guilty of, but not as much as Boler or a lot of other broadcasters).

We're not campaigning to get the guy fired of sending him angry postcards. All we're saying is that we've watched this year's Jazz broadcasts, and we think Harpring's bad on them.

I'm on the Anybody but Locke bandwagon. I didn't mind Boone, don't really mind Harpring. I admit they're not great but it's not going to ruin a game for me.

Locke is unlistenable... well, no, his radio broadcasts are okay, when he stays focused on describing the action and not bantering. His interviews are unlistenable, though. He acts like a 12 year-old desperate to be accepted by the cool kids.

"HEY, HEY PAUL MILLSAP, DO YOU STILL PLAY 'CALL OF DUTY' WITH WES MATTHEWS?!?! DO YOU BEAT HIM?! HA, HA, HA HA HA! HEY, SHOULD I TEXT HIM AND ASK? I'LL TEXT HIM RIGHT NOW!!!!"
