Kobe reveals the source of his "Mentality"

Post#1 » by AlphaOmega » Tue Nov 23, 2010 4:41 pm

Very informative and revealing article of Kobe on Yahoo.

He finally comes out on who helped him develop his insane workaholic mentality/preparation to the game.

Yes it was Michael, but no it wasnt that Michael.

great stuff:

“I’ve never understood this stuff, where a star player sits out and a team goes into the tank. Well, they need him because he makes them better. Well, if he’s making them better, they should be able to survive without him. That’s how you lead your guys. You’ve got to be able to make guys suffice on their own, without you. If you’re there all the time and they take you away, they shouldn’t need a respirator.

I've had a lot of beefs with Kobe over the years, and I've never warmed up to him like I did Magic, or even Shaq (before he left and made an ass out of himself, that is).

But I've always had immense respect for his drive and determination. You just don't meet people like that very often, no matter what they do.

When he finally does retire, I know he will have done everything humanly possible to maximize his potential. I can't think of a better compliment than that.

That was a really good read. Kobe's a freak. I wish I was naturally driven the way he is, then I wouldn't be sitting here on RealGM talking about how driven someone else is (lol).

It's crazy how Woj's tone changes when he's writing about Kobe, as opposed to writing about LeBron. :P

Great article. Thanks for sharing. I love finding out about what Kobe and the Lakers do behind the scenes.

Dont get me wrong. This is a good article, HOWEVER, it begins by recounting his visits with Michael Jackson in his younger years and concludes with a direct quote stating that he is 'still coming'.

Another sad, convoluted individual mistaking humor and wit with stupidity and ignorance.

what are you 12?

please read your own post before you actually post it. That's what the preview button is for.

Yeah, RIP. I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when I heard the news of Mike passing. I was pretty shook up that day.
