:D Nice, i knew if i threw enough sh*t at the wall something would stick

TheMan44 wrote:As a part-time Rockets fan - I can tell u that Rocket's fans would be THRILLED to unload Brooks. They - alongside myself - are getting quite irritated with his inconsistent play (when healthy) and cannot see him as a good long-term player b/c he ONLY has his quickness............once he ages or becomes injury prone (which he already has) then he won't have anything to go with b/c he is too short. He is like Damon Stoudemire all over again. Okay PG for younger years, terrible from late-20s to his 30s.

But I'd take that deal. I still get to root for MY nash on MY rockets.

Whoo!

Glad to see that the Rockets would be happy with it. I was going to try to add in Clark for Budinger too, but figured i didnt want to push my luck. I saw a little bit of frustration between Rockets fans over Brooks play and figured with their window with Yao closing, that this would be a great idea for both teams.

Da_Reel_Kboy wrote:Great deal for both teams. Go and post that on the Rockets board to see what they think. :D

Im going to post it on the trade board and see what kind of replys i get. I figured i'd leave the Rockets board to TheMan44 to post just in case.

OK, I posted it on both the Trade Board and the Rockets Board (In the game thread). We will se what kind of replys we get. Most will be on the Trade Board as the Rockets Board seems like a Ghost-Town.

i will proudly take credit for bringing in an Olivia Munn video into this thread! :D

Also, Jordan Hill is a great role player, i was friends with him here at UA.. i can say he just doesnt have the motivation to be a Star type player so ill leave it at an amazing role player.

good thing he got out of NY cuz Mike D would have killed his career otherwise!

agreed. everyday we are seeing how vital Nash and for that matter even Hill are to this team. unless they ask for a trade no way in hell they get traded.

Problem is that Nash is 37 and not 27. At some point in the near future he's going to decline or retire and we'll be left with nothing. I'd like us to be able to trade him when he's still playing at a high level and we can get some nice pieces to help rebuild on the fly. Obviously it won't happen since I think Nash is too classy to ask for a trade but I do think he will start asking the FO for help if we're still at .500 or just a few game above .500 in a month or two. If the Suns don't keep him happy, I think there's a chance he could ask for a trade (behind doors of course) either at the trade deadline or at the end of the season.

Agreed.

I just threw this deal in the machine, pretty dumb but whatever:

New York gets Nash
New Jersey gets J-Rich and Chandler
Phoenix gets Gallinari, Murphy, Douglas, Williams, and Randolph

Dragic/Douglas
Gallinari/Williams/Dudley
Hill/Turk/Childress
Murphy/Warrick/Randolph
Lopez/Frye/Lawal

Roster spots become an issue, though.

Meh.

EDIT: Or....

Sacramento gets: Jason Richardson
New York gets: Steve Nash
Phoenix gets: Jason Thompson, Danilo Gallinari, Toney Douglas, Curry's contract to waive, and a pick from the Kings.

Dragic/Douglas
Gallinari/Dudley/Childress
Hill/Turkoglu/Clark
Thompson/Warrick/Lawal
Lopez/Frye

EDIT 2: Or.....

Sacramento gets Jason Richardson
Orlando gets Steve Nash
Phoenix gets Jason Thompson, Jameer Nelson, Brandon Bass, Mikael Pietrus, a pick from ORL, and a first from Sacramento.

Nelson/Dragic
Hill/Dudley/
Turkoglu/Childress/Pietrus
Thompson/Bass/Warrick
Lopez/Frye/Lawal

I like the "EDIT" trade BH, ahlthough I believe the Kings wouldn't even accept Thompson for J-Rich straight up, let alone J-Rich for Thompson AND a pick. We may have to throw in Dudley and/or Warrick to make the trade more appealing to the Kings.

"EDIT 2" is right up there with the "EDIT" trade for me as well for me. I like the number of picks we receive in return. I would mostlikely try to buy out Pietrus as we have no need for him on our roster. I would also start Dragic over Nelson, and move Turk to the starting SG spot. That way Hill can play his usual SF and we can have Turk helping Dragic with the ball handling.

The first tarde you proposed is the best of the lot for us, but extremely unrealistic.
New York gets screwed, and New Jersey isn't going to let go of Terrence WIlliams anytime soon. I'll give you points for effort though.

Yeah, neither of them are likely, and I'm 100% against dealing him even if things become a disaster (I just think Nash should retire as a Sun, full stop), just got bored for a few min and threw some random garbage together.

I don't get why this board has just concluded a good win with several posts about trading Nash. Ya'll are ridiculous. A very strong case can be made that he is as good as ever, perhaps even the best player in the NBA right now. (Do you want me to make that case for you??)

We sure as hell have a lot to figure out, but we have three bad losses: two without our starting center and point guard, who happens to be Steve Nash. The third was after we'd just lost Fropez, so we were adjusting to new lineups. It was on the road against the sometimes incredible Miami Heat, who defended us better than I've ever seen anyone defend us.

We still have had the probably the toughest schedule in the NBA thus far, and this win was at the end of a long road trip.

This. The only scenario that I would consider trading Nash is if he requests it, and we can unload Hedo at the same time. But let's be honest: Nash isn't requesting a trade this season, and nobody wants Hedo.

I also agree that a case can be made for Nash being the best player in the NBA to this point...At least considered with guys like Paul and Gasol, LeBron... who clearly have been playing at a high level.

Agreed. Some idiot on another message board that I help moderate even tried to claim that Nash is a PG that has fallen off. After destroying his "point", he couldn't even respond. Idiots.

TheMan44 "My Nash on my Rockets"

--- Really? I thought Sunsman was crapping on Nash last year? Or was that just MVF?
