Spurs waive Danny Green?!

Post#1 » by BFrizzy » Tue Nov 23, 2010 8:34 pm

So as quickly as Danny Green was signed he has now been waived. What are everyone's thoughts on this?

Surely the FO have a new option that perhaps wasnt available to them a week ago??

maybe that

or he was terrible in the practices
Shaq on Duncan:SA won because of TD, a guy I could never break.I could talk trash to Ewing, get in D-Rob's face, get a rise out of Mourning, but when I went at Tim he’d look at me like he was bored and say:“Hey,Shaq, watch this shot right off the glass.”

I hope Peja gets bought out.. I'd love to have Peja here in SA.

He didn't produce much while he was here. Let's see who the next guy the FO brings in. I swear it feels like we are a temp agency. Spurs are being very selective on that 12th and 13th roster spot.

Peja would be money here. I was just thinking if we continue to roll like we have I wonder if we make any mid season pick ups or trades. I know we like our roster and we are at the cap but I figure if Peter Holt feels this might be our best opportunity for one more championship if he will break the bank.

Looks like Udoka is coming back.

@STEIN_LINE_HQ After Spurs waived Danny Green, bringing back Ime Udoka is next in their 12-1 sights. I'm told Udoka on way to SA and "likely" to sign soon

I was just thinking about Ime Udoka a couple of hours ago without knowing whether he's being considered LOL. I thought he did well with Sacto last season but I'm not sure how game-ready he is. Still, he has always stayed in good shape so I trust Pop in his choice.

I'd like to say a couple of words about Danny Green though - I really liked what he did in the limited time he played for us and I thought we are grooming him to stay so I was really surprised we dropped him. I hope we bring him back at some point this season after we try several other guys for that spot.

In that line of thought - no, thanks to Finley and Stackhouse - they don't have anything left in the tank. Peja looks too worn out but maybe he could contribute, he had a good shooting game against Dallas despite NO losing that one...

Honestly, I like Stackhouse. I think the bench right now kinda lacks some sort of fire power. We expected George Hill to provide that but he's not really a scorer. Plus, I've always believed this team can use a "dog". A Mario Elie type. Jerry Stackhouse is a big enough **** to be that guy. Plus, he's hurt us before as a Mavs, I'd like to believe there's a level of respect there of his talents.

But it does sound like Udoka is coming and I wouldn't mind. Atleast he knows the system. He'd be like Keith Bogans.

I was also thinking Stackhouse has a year left in him but I was shocked Miami waived him to sign Dampier, having in mind that they signed Stackhouse to fill in for the injured Mike Miller. They could have waived one of several big men that are redundant, including a 2nd-rounder who's yet to play (Pittman) but they waived Stack instead... THAT made me think he has nothing left in his tank. If he still has the hunger and the stamina to play for 10-15 minutes out there knocking down open shots and drawing fouls, I don't mind signing him.

Then, Finley is absolutely washed out IMO and not worth signing.

We have too many guards already.

I liked what I seen from Green in limited minutes but i'm not exactly sorry to see him go.

I liked Udoka will he was here. He defends, he rebounds and he's an okay shooter.
