Steve Young was a great player and he had a hell of a run from around '92 to '96 but to try and say he should be ranked ahead of Favre is laughable.
Maybe if Young had a been a starter longer in his career it would be somewhat arguable.
When talking about where Favre ranks all time you have to take into consideration how many Hall of Fame wide receivers he played with.
Just like you have to take into consideration how many untimely interceptions Favre has thrown in huge games.
Then with Favre you have the intangibles factors like the iron man streak.
That's why Favre is kinda hard to rank, but he's deff ahead of Steve Young.
I'd put Montana ahead of Favre even though Montana played a huge chunk of his career with the best WR to ever play the game obviously in Rice.
I'd put Elway ahead of Favre,Elway while a great player wasn't as good as Favre but Elway almost never cost his teams games with interceptions.
I hate ranking guys I never seen play like Unitas and Starr.
I think everyone would agree Favre is top 10 and probably somewhere between like 4 and 8.

I think that is a fair statement.

The thing that really hurts Favre's ranking IMO and most would agree is the interceptions he has thrown in big games, not so much his total number of INTS but when he threw them.
Think about it, Favre has thrown 2 interceptions ('95,'09) in the 4th qtrs of NFC Championship games with his team driving to take the lead and then one in overtime of an NFC Championship game.
Not a championship game obviously but you can also throw the Eagles one in there in OT in the divisional game in '03.
It's crazy to think that if he throws TDs on those drives instead of picks he could very well have 5 Super Bowl rings.
And if that's the case he's a lock at #1 all time IMO
Those INTS knock him down a couple of spots in his career ranking.Potentially from #1 to somewhere between #4 and #8.

Re: What will your opinion of Favre be?
Since after our last Super Bowl appearance he had, by my count, six bad playoff games and three good ones. Not surprisingly, our record in those games is 3-6.
Before then he had 11 good playoff games to only 2 bad ones. Our record was 9-4.
With him it was always feast or famine. If he played well we won the big games. If he played poorly we lost.
But you look at the constant during the good years and what was missing during the bad: Mike Holmgren. When he left Favre's play in the big games went down the toilet.

Re: What will your opinion of Favre be?
Would any Favre fan like to address the fact that for over the pasty decade+ he has been the guy that killed his teams chances in the playoffs. Almost without exception when GB lost it was because he had a bunch of picks and a QB rating of 70 or under.
If I had to pick either Young or Favre to be my QB in the big game (or any game) I'll take Young all day. Favre killed his team in the big game more often than he carried them. Nobody here can't tell me Favre didn't make them worry or cringe during the big game.

I'll admit, I have no idea where to put Brady.
For those who saw Montana, is it true they are very similar?

Brady has a way stronger arm. Better deep ball.
Montana's accuracy was unreal though.

I think he's a fraud. Everything that made me love him as a Packer seems so fake after the **** he pulled the last couple of years. I don't think I'll ever forgive him.
