I would take that deal in a heartbeat! You got a SF for the future and a center too. And we got a cneter for the future and a SF that can back-up KD. It benefits both sides. Now only if our GM's would see this deal. :P

At this point I would gladly take Hamilton for Davis. Clippers get a veteran leAder that could still get you 13-17 ppg. Just slide over gordan to point gueRd an move Bledsoe to the bench as the third guard. I think gordan would do a decent job at point guard. Pistons get a pure point guard in Davis. They slide stuckey over to sg, where he is better suited.

Gordon doesn't has the handles to be a full time pg in this league.
He's also at his best when he's creating for himself and not for others.

I also don't get why someone would want Hamilton, whose contract is just as long as Baron's and who I don't see fitting at all, thanks to Gordon not being a point guard.

@mitch:
That's something we could look at, but do the Bobcats have interest in something like this?

@Det - I think they would be. They expect to make the playoffs but they are struggling right now. SJax has been kinda imploding so Baron could be that calming factor.

Jordan wants to win and I think Baron could lead them to the playoffs. All they need is probably 41 wins to get in.

Randy Foye is someone we have to look to dump as well. He isn't a bad player, but I'd rather keep playing Willie and Bledsoe as opposed to giving Foye time, who is way too stagnant, but who would deal for him....could the Magic have interest in a combo guard?

I would absolutely love that trade, especially if we could turn around and dump Kaman somewhere and let Aldrich develop with Blake

Looks like a pretty good trade for both sides:
Green + Aldrich for Gomes + DeAndre
Green would have to be re-signed, but it would give Aminu a chance to play behind someone who is actually better. Aldrich could develop into an inside-out center we'd need next to Blake.
For OKC, DeAndre could concentrate on rebounding, blocking shots, and playing defense; Gomes would be a solid backup with a reasonable contract, and Ibaka could replace Green as the starting pf. All these are good character guys as well.

I like the trade for Clippers, but playing Sefaloosha Ibaka and Jordan together? Durant and Westbrook would have combine for 75ppg.

I like the deal that has davis going to Charlotte for dial and Livingston. Diaw coukd run th point forward, clippers could go with a big line up with dial at the two, gordan at the one and amino Nd the three.

We need some inside toughness and defense. Someone who can help Griffin out and has his back. And we need bench scoring/playmaking.

What would it take to get Kaman to the Warriors?

Obviously we won't be dealing Ellis, Curry, or Lee. Biedrins is fair game. Udoh perhaps could be had (although we'd wait until we got him on the court to see what he's all about). Dorell Wright could be had, but he's got some value as our starting SF and three point guy. Reggie Williams is a very good bench scorer at the SG/SF position. We've got $18M in expirings between Radmanovic, Gadzuric, and B.Wright. I believe we can deal this year's pick if it is out of the top-12.

Anyways, give some ideas of what you think would be fair. I'm interested to see. And don't get greedy!

You take on Baron Davis as well and there should be a chance, with all those expirings you've got.

Maybe something like this could work:

http://www.realgm.com/src_checktrade.ph ... id=5753582

Though, I'm not sure about us adding Biedrins, whose got the longest deal of 'em all.

If you don't want to take on Baron then find a third team that does, without sending us crap deals in return.

As far as trading Kaman alone:
Won't do this unless there's an improvement coming our way(which Biedrins or those other things you're offering aren't) as we don't look to salary dump him.

I like the Biedrins-Kaman premise. I think both guys would fit better next to each other's PF. Lee-Kaman obviously works better as we need more of a post scorer and a big body to d-up larger centers.

I think Griffin-Biedrins works because it gives Griffin all the shots, gives the Clips a big time rebounder (10rpg), can finish amongst the best in the league (56%fg) and a 7 footer that can excel in the open court.

I don't think that the difference between Biedrins and Kaman is Baron Davis' bloated contract. I'd say something more like we'll toss in Brandan Wright and you can throw in either Randy Foye or Ryan Gomes, depending on which contract you'd want to jettison.

Brandan Wright is useless and throwing in Gomes or Foye wouldn't be enough for us to take on Biedrins longer contract or even thinking about giving up Kaman.

So the only reason to give Kaman away(got to keep in mind as well that Biedrins has one more year left on his contract) would be getting rid of Baron Davis and his contract.
You either take him on, find another team that does or there's no chance of Kaman coming your way.

That's not bragging about how great Kaman is or anything, that's just the only thing that would make sense for us, as we'd give in, take a step back and build around Griffin and Gordon this early in their careers.

You won't be able to get pure expirings for Baron Davis. He's your backup PG and he's due $28.6M over the next two years. Nobody wants that and you guys are the ones unfortunate to be stuck with it.

There is a possibility to involve a third team to take on Baron, but you are going to have to take on some bad contracts in return.

GS Trades: Andris Biedrins and Brandan Wright
LAC Trade: Chris Kaman and Baron Davis
CLE Trades: Antawn Jamison and Ramon Sessions

GS Receives: Chris Kaman
LAC Receive: Andris Biedrins, Antawn Jamison, and Ramon Sessions
CLE Receives: Baron Davis and Brandan Wright

You guys get out of Baron's contract and get a center replacement and some valuable backups.

I'm not saying expirings, but those deals you're listing surely won't be what interests us enough to give up Kaman.

Kaman is the sweetener to get us some better contracts in return for Baron, whose going to be our starter as soon as his knee allows it, which shouldn't be to long down the road.

So no, that deal you've offered isn't what would net you Kaman, especially with Biedrins having the longest contract(3 more years after this season) and the injury history he's got.

Biedrins plays the same number of games per year as Kaman. So I don't know why you are bringing up injury history. If any team would be worried about injuries it would be the team getting Kaman (who has battled injury this season), not the team getting Biedrins.

You are simply not going to get some team to take on Baron Davis and his crazy contract so they can get Kaman. Baron Davis is in the category of Gilbert Arenas and Elton Brand in terms of being wasted long term money. What makes his equally bad is his uncaring attitude about basketball. Kaman has value, despite his very bad start to the season, but not that much value.

If you can propose a deal that is better than the one above then I'd be interested to see it.

Like I've said, not expecting pure expirings for Davis, but at least something moderate if we add Kaman as well.

Trading Kaman alone doesn't makes sense for us, as the only way to do it would be to add an upgrade, which Biedrins isn't and probably wouldn't be available anyways, as teams don't trade centers better then Kaman.
And as we aren't dying to get rid of Kaman's contract(will be up in 2012), it's pretty tough to find a deal that makes sense for us, as long as we can't get rid of Baron's contrct during the process.

And those injury histories I've come up with are something you talk about, if a guy(like Biedrins) has 3+ seasons left on his contract.
At the very worst, Kaman would be a huge expiring contract next season(if they play), while Biedrins would have two more years on his contract left.

I'd be interested in a trade with Biedrins, Gadzuric (expiring), Reggie Williams and the GSW #1 pick coming back for a Clipper package of Kaman, Gomes and Collins. No worries for me about the length of Biedrins contract, he is signed through 2014 but it is at a fairly reasonable 9 million per season. If he can get back to the level of play he was at in 2008/09, this is a bargain.

A lot of the trades packages involving Kaman and Davis I've seen floating around the trade and transactions board don't make a lot of sense for the Clippers, taking on a huge contract for a year with a player that doesn't fit their needs just because it is expiring. The Clippers won't find a suitable C replacement for Kaman in free agency, they just aren't available.
