Game 11: Pack at Falcons - Noon

Post#1 » by MickeyDavis » Sun Nov 28, 2010 2:59 pm

This game followed by Philly/Chicago, should be a great day to watch football.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

For me this game is really about the defense and to see if this defensive unit is for real or if the first real good QB the packers will face this year, carves them up like last year, when they play against the better QB 's in the league. I can't wait to see how the defense plays against Ryan, the only other real good QB they play is Brady and he is the best....so this will be a great test.

Offensively I want to see some balance, the Packers must be able to run the ball enough to be effective and allow the play action passing game to work. McCarthy can't abandon the run, also real interested to see if Nance gets more of the workload and what he can do.

Couple keys to the game
-Slow down Turner, I would like to see a good game by Raji (theres been a bunch of them)
-Contain Roddy White, easier said then done
-Don't get beat deep on playaction

If so, then a W and an inside track to a top 2 seed :D

For some reason I don't think we're gonna have a problem with Turner, but deep balls to White scare the hell out of me. I think he has a big day. Same with Gonzo.

I could see this game looking a lot like last year's Pittsburgh game.

Roddy White scares me a lot. Nobody has figured out a way to stop him all year. Getting pressure on Matt Ryan is going to be all kinds of important.

Going to be tough as hell but tally up another Packers win, 30-24

The keys to this game are simple to note. Contain Turner, don't let Roddy go off (double team), and can't let John Abraham kill the offensive line so Aaron can pick off a weak secondary

If we win, that puts us at 8-3, with ATL also at 8-3. In order to remain tied with them (really 1 game ahead of them, because we would have beaten them) we would have to win out, right?

Right, so either win out, or hope for another loss from them?

Someone on another site asked me to explain this chart, so I'll just c/p what I wrote there, here, just in case someone doesn't understand it.

If we win, and get to 8-3, we have a 25% chance of getting the #1 seed, and a 17% chance of the #2 seed. Thus, a 42% of getting a BYE.

If we lose, and drop to 7-4, our chance of a #1 seed plummets to 1%, a 2 seed to 21%, and a 23% chance of getting the #3 seed.

The reason a loss helps us so much, is because we would have the tiebreaker over ATL and PHI.

The reason a loss hurts us so much, is because ATL would have a 2 game lead on us PLUS the tiebreaker, with 5 games left.

Basically, this is a huge game. Think Dallas 2007.

We will win. Bears will lose. Should be a good day for the Pack.

38-31 Pack. Want the pack to win. Need Matt Ryan to have a big day.
