PGT: Packers at Falcons (Week 12)

Post#1 » by Captain Erv » Sun Nov 28, 2010 9:19 pm

The non-challenge and the fumble.

Atlanta is a solid team, but beatable.

We've lost 4 games by a combined 12 points.

This game won't bother me much if the Bears lose today.

Discuss.

Atlanta has a great team, but yes we absolutely should have won today. Incredibly frustrating to lose by a FG at the end yet again. And the special teams...my god...

Who the hell is Wilhelm, did we sig n him at halftime?

Whatever system we use to let MM know whether to challenge or not HAS TO CHANGE.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Slocum should not be allowed on the plane back.

Also, a quick bubble screen on 3rd and short would be lovely.

Oh look, Philly is throwing a swing pass to their RBs, what a concept.

HOLY **** VICK.

That spin move was awesome.

I knew as soon as Weems brought it out that we were going to be screwed. Our coverage unit was due to give up a big return and sure enough, that's exactly what they did.

Too bad. Rodgers played his ass off. His job is so difficult with literally no running game at all besides him and he still had an outstanding game.

Just take care of business against SF and Detroit. At ATL in the playoffs certainly doesn't scare me, now that we know what we have against them.

I just hate that this adds to the "Rodgers loses close games" argument. Yeah, the fumble was big, but he was far from the reason we lost and usually isn't the reason.

He wouldn't have had to try to sneak it twice if we had a running game. And on 1st down Quinn Johnson inexplicably jumped and tipped a ball that wasn't intended for him.

Yep. That isn't the first time we've inexplicably tried to QB sneak it in an failed multiple times.

I think he intentionally tackled him like that just to get him down. I don't think he could have tackled him normally. If he doesn't grab the mask, that could have been a TD.

That's how it looked to me anyway.

I'm in the minority, but I don't think we win the challenge on AR's slide. I'm pretty sure the ball is marked from where the QB starts the slide. Not where he finishes it, not where he's touched. I think there was a game last week where a team challenged the exact same thing and lost.

Not challenging the Gonzalez catch killed us though as did a lot of other missed opportunities.

Disappointing loss but not terrible. We're still contenders and the playoffs going through Atlanta doesn't scare me at all.

What happened to Kuhn anywhere? Was he even in the game today?

And yes, no way I blame Wilhelm. That's a TD or he gets them to at least FG range if he doesn't grab his facemask. He takes him down there and they get it at the 50. There's at least a chance that the defense stops them from getting 15 yards or so.
