Dumb play by Roach, he wasn't even near the return.

Daryl Johnston the commentator needs to get his **** together and stop making the excuse the asante is not there at CB. Keeps trying to find ways not to give the credit to the bears.

We just beat a 7-3 team. Be happy. We're 8-3 and 1st place by a game.

:banghead:

8-3, second best record in the conference, in first place in the division with a 2 game lead, sporting one of the best defenses in the league - and you post this on the board. :nonono:

Great win by the Bears. We are in the drivers seat in the division. Didn't see any injuries so it looks good heading into Detroit - although that will not be a gimmie game by any means.

Big win for the Bears!

Welcome me back to the bandwagon! (Not really, I never got off, just lurked around for a while incognito).

Strong win against a strong opponent.

Philly was down a few key players at the CB position, but you play the team presently in front of you.

The Bears looked very good in every phase of the game, except for a few gaffes on the O-line, but all in all very good.

Great game management and offensive distribution.

The D was awesome!

Quality win!
A plea for post scoring is a plausible Bulls plan, but plainly isn't a priority. In response to a post player's dismay about his lack of points in the paint, Paxson said.... "I'm not nearly as concerned about the offensive stuff as he is."

The best game they've played all season. The end of the game is a product of the Cover 2 and it did its job with the exception of an unbelievable throw by Vick. Offense was stellar, defense was great, special teams were great.

THIS game is the game this team needed to start turning heads. Now put a whoopin' on the Lions.

10 wins gets you into the playoffs. Beat the Lions and we'll win 1 of the last 4 games for sure.

I'm not sure if 10 wins will get a wild card spot. Remember the Saints are also 8-3 and they have a piss easy schedule coming up(@ Cincinnati and a game against the Rams). I think 11 wins definitely gets you in, and I'm pretty sure there are a couple of other teams that we have to worry about. Namely the Giants since they own the tie breaker over us and have a relatively easy schedule coming up(2 games left against the Redskins, and a game against Minnesota which they should win).

Bears control their own future at this point. Lucky for us we get to play New England and the Jets at home. Both good teams, but definitely winnable games. New England has a great offense, crap defense, and its pretty much the opposite for the Jets. As long as we avoid some kind of scenario where we have to play Green Bay in January for playoff implications we'll be alright.

The Bears should beat Minnesota and Detroit. 10 wins. Unfortunately, this means they have to go 1-3 against the Jets-Pats-Pack which is the MINIMUM I expect.

Let it be known that we will be in all of these games barring a major injury to our defense or offense. These games are all winnable. The Bears could likely go 4-0 going into Green Bay. I do not feel out of line in saying that.

Happy to log in & see such great optimism on this board.......GO BEARS!!!!!

We need to put the Lions out of the game early because I don't want us overlooking them considering that the Lions are sandwiched between the Eagles & Patriots.

Right now, you've got 7 teams at 7-4 or better in the NFC, which is pretty crazy. One playoff spot is reserved for a team under .500, so of those 7 teams, only 5 will go.

One likely drop-out is Tampa Bay. Cliff Levingston refuses to believe they're a 7-4 team. They're -4 in point differential on the season and still have games against Atlanta and New Orleans, both teams from in the division that are significantly better.

With that, Atlanta is almost a lock for home-field advantage. They have 2 games left against Carolina, one against Tampa and one against Seattle. Their only tough game left is New Orleans, but that's at home where they've been tough. Might see them go 14-2.

New Orleans has Cincy, St. Louis and Tampa left, but also Baltimore and Atlanta on the road. They could go 3-2 over that stretch, finishing 11-5.

Green Bay has a tough remaining schedule along with us. San Francisco at home should be a win, and they're on the road at Detroit, but they end in New England and against us and the Giants at home. Hard to tell how they'll end up, but it's hard to see them missing the playoffs.

The Giants have two games against Washington left, a game against Minnesota, then Philly at home and Green Bay on the road. Philly has Dallas twice, Houston at home, the Giants on the road and Minnesota at home. That might be the easiest schedule left of all the contenders.

Meanwhile, we've got one of the hardest schedules: all 3 division opponents on the road, then the Pats and Jets at home.

Forgive Cliff Levingston for being pessimistic, but we could easily be left out of the playoffs if we don't keep playing well. Detroit is better than 2-9, Minnesota is better under Frazier and Green Bay to finish the season is tough. The Jets and Pats are basically at the top of their games too.

The bright side of it though is that we're a game up on GB, Philly and NYG... and if we happen to fall to the 5th seed perhaps in front of a team like Philly, then we get a first round matchup against Seattle or St. Louis.
