What's better than 1 Bargnani?

2 Bargnanis.

So up until now we hear arguments about how Bargnani is being coddled and BC is getting hardworking rebounders and defenders to hide Bargs' weaknesses, which is what he should have done for Bosh. Then draftnet ranks someone 7th who is similar to Bargs and puts a little Raptors logo next to his name because the Raptors currently have the 7th worst record in the NBA...so 2 Barggs' are better than one. DAMN YOU BC, DAMN YOU TO HELL!

Yet darth_federer wants us to get him. I'm pretty sure he's only doing it for comedic value

In all seriousness, last years draft should have put all the fears to rest. We drafted the BPA and both our picks are defensive players who still have a lot of potential.

I cant see this team drafting another big. Its going to be a guard or a small forward.

Kemba Walker - The Right PG for Us?

Post#627 » by MrBojangelz71 » Mon Nov 29, 2010 7:47 pm

Actually, Walker, a 6-foot-1 junior guard, is arguably playing the best basketball of anyone in the country. His brilliant run in Maui came on the heels of a 42-point performance in an 89-73 win at home over Vermont on Nov. 17. Walker's 30.0 points per game leads the nation, and he is also putting up 4.2 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game. Most important, he has led UConn, which came into the season unranked and bordering on irrelevant, to a 5-0 start.

We aren`t looking like a team finishing in the bottom 3 this season. Walker , I believe, is the exact type of PG that should be on our radar and realistically in our reach. I liked his game prior to this season but am loving the development he is showing from last season. Hopefully he doesn`t play himself into a top 3 pick and if we are drafting 7 or 8th this year, he is available to us.

I was kind of hoping he could last until the Heat pick, but probably not, the way things are going.

A couple of months ago, Chad Ford was on the Simmons podcast and I believe they talked about this guy. He, apparently, plays tough and is not a finesse player like Bargnani.

If available at that spot, I think he's guaranteed to be drafted by BC.

It might help when the draft combine results are posted and he's listed at 3'7".

I liked this guy as well, he reminds me of TJ ford but is also a good outside shooter!. The one concern I have of him is his passing skills I didn't see much of it during the one game I saw him play, but his game against kentucky he dished out 6 assists. All in all I do like his progression this year he's steadily improving his assists total

This is what Draftxpress has to say about his point guard skills:

As a point guard, Walker has a lot of good tools, excelling in the pick-and-roll game and showing good court vision in general, capable of making tough passes to cutters in the lane. He does a pretty good job of moving the ball around the floor and finding open shooters, keeping his head up for the most part when initiating the offense. That said, Walker definitely shows some tunnel vision when he decides to attack the basket, usually being dead set on scoring in those situations. He doesn’t show much prowess in the drive-and-dish game, and his decision-making in general has been erratic at times this season, being pretty turnover prone with the ball, both in forcing passes into tough situations and forcing his dribble-drive game.

Despite how good he has shown so far this season he's still not considered 7-8th pick though, maybe a 11th to 20th range.

He's actually projected to be 8th as per draftxpress, but I wouldn't be paying attention to mocks ATM since it's still early into the season.

With the amount of people that like Bargnani around here, and the amount of people that thing BPA is the way to go, you would think there would be more people excited to get the next Bargnani

Watching Perry Jones right now, he doesn't get many touches his teammates either hog the ball or blind sighted but he's doing it on the defensive end now, good hustle on the board and blocking shots. It's not a surprise to see him avg. just 11 pts since everyone on that team can score. He's exciting to watch than that barnes guy.

Perry has looked great in this game. Terrible competition, but he's dominating without a lot of touches.

8 points and 7 reb in the 1st half already, got few points off from scoring around the basket, and other time where he's got an open lane and just lays it up quick, man w/ his athleticism and long arms he can score very easily for sure.

Haven't had a chance to watch Perry Jones yet. Do those of you that have think he can become a great wing defender or is he strictly a 4? How quick is he?

Starting to take aim these small forwards - Barnes, Perry, Terrence, even Vasely - as there's a better chance that we'll end up with one of them than Irving.
