Jazz best start since???

Post#1 » by Deeefense » Tue Nov 30, 2010 5:48 pm

When is the last time the Jazz have started a season off so well?
Looking at the schedule, we have the potential to continue this win streak too.

Of the the teams ahead of us, only Dallas has had a tougher schedule, according to Hollinger, but they've had more home games.

I'm curious to know when was the last time we had a better road record than at home a quarter of the way into the season

2008-2009 started off 8 -1
2007-2008 started off 9-2
2006-2007 started off 13-1

This team usually starts off well.

Yup, it's the road record that is really special so far this season.

Word is, South Beach is ecstatic that they

Yeah I feel this is as strong a start as any of those other ones cause of the difficulty of the schedule, how well we've performed on the road, and doing it with so many new faces. After our two blunders to start the year, we're 14-3.

Considering all the new guys we have had to integrate and the schedule, this years team has been a pleasant surprise. That being said, I care very little for how we start out, I want to see how we finish.

Considering the schedule and the slew of new players we've brought in...

...I would say this is one of the best starts in franchise history.

I loved the 2006-07 run of 13 of their first 14; but if you remember the first month they pretty much just out-scored everyone each night. They started off hot on offense which covered a lot of holes in their defense, which is why, ulimately, they ended up with only the 5th best record in the WC.

This squad is more well-rounded. They're beating teams with defense as well as with offense. Top to bottom this year's team is better.

It's great to start the year doing so well, but judging by the stats FJS brought up, it really doesn't mean much in terms of where we finish in the standings. It is great that we're doing so well with so many new players though.

A HUGE key will be how we fare injury wise.
I think this team is capable of winning 60 games if they stay healthy.
The things that are different this year that make me feel more confident than I have the past several years are......
A great start with a lot of new faces, I didn't expect it. I figured they would hold there own at home and have a few painful lessons on the road.
The Road wins are huge.
The grit and toughness they have shown by winning those come from behind games. We just haven't seen that.
This team seems more durable than what we have seen over the last several years, just has a different feel. (knocking on wood).
And probably the biggest of all in my opinion........
The second unit has been outstanding!!!! I think this is the single biggest change, Having a bench that can actually get and extend a lead, OR start huge come from behind runs is just awesome.

Ya, I think it's important to point out that we will only be getting better from here on out as long as we can stay healthy... so I still say this is the best start in franchise history with all things considered (new players, schedule, etc.)
