To be honest, I think 40 yo Nash will still be better than Dragic at that point. I see Nash retiring before he has to come off the bench (not in the AI Canswer way though).

Really good debate here guys. I'm glad I've joined this board.

First of all, I'm selfish and Nash is my favourite player, so I don't want him traded. I think we've actually done reasonably well to be 8-9 after the schedule from hell in November.

I would take offence at the post that suggested J-Rich wouldn't start on any other team. The Bulls would die for him to start at the 2 and that's just one example.

It's extremely difficult when you have a player like Nash who simply is the franchise. He is a wonderful human being, a basketball phenom, and a freak of an athlete.

I also refuse to give up on this team. I have seen some very impressive stuff and if Lopez can get back and give us some grunt in the middle, we can surprise a few.

Keep the faith brothers. Stick with Steve and enjoy watching probably the greatest Phoenix Sun ever finish his career in Phoenix.

Don't know if JRich would put them over the top (ie Lakers/Boston category), but they would be a seriously good team with a lineup of Rose/JRich/Deng/Boozer/Noah. Great rebounding and very balanced scoring threats from 1-4.

I believe you're right about him retiring at 41. A still averaging 8 ast per game Stockton retired one month after his 41st birthday. Should Nash do the same, Steve will play 4 more seasons after this one. But I seriously doubt he'll be going into the FO...be a "lifer". He's got better plans for his "afterlife".

The Bulls have to include Deng in any trade if they were to get J-Rich. Its all to do with salary.

If we are going to move JRich this year and he were to go to Chicago, getting Luol Deng as past of the package would be fine by me. It would certainy add to our wings logjam but he wuld be by far the best SF on the team.

I don't see how Deng helps us. Sure he's an overall upgrade to a few of our SF's, but for his deal and how stacked we are at the 3, we really don't need him. Unless we're getting back Noah or we move Hedo as well, I wouldn't give up JRich.

I'm starting to agree that giving up J-Rich would be a big mistake. Suns have no defense or rebouding, all we have is offense. Trading J-Rich would gut the offense and leave us with neither one.

I Know in theory we would get good assets in return or else we wouldn't trade him, but would get a 20 ppg 3 point shooting, average defense player in return?
