Re: Andre Iguodala
i wanted him over butler and martin. we need someone like iggy. he can finish strong, defense, rebound, even make plays. i dont think his mid range game is that bad, since he was the best player in philly the defenses focused on him. now in this system he get a lot more good looks. he wont be a sharp shooter, but we already have brooks, shane, bud, lee. you dont want all your guard/forwards to be sharp shooters (not like we're really sharp shooters this season). mixing it up w/ iggy would've been perfect.

If the Rox can't right the ship during their upcoming soft schedule (post-Lakers), I'm up for whatever.
Iggy? Fine. Pull it. If they can't have a respectable December, all bets are off.

Re: Andre Iguodala?
seems like a perfect match. i know before the kmart deal went down i was for sure Iggy was ending up in houston. it seems destined to happen. but sometimes trades makes too much sense to actually happen lol... we'll see...
trade scenario
yao will not be traded. it's not going to happen. iggy is making around $12 mil. philly is looking to rebuild and look for expirers, young talent, and draft picks. best case scenario for houston, they ship out jared jeffries a mixture of draft picks and use trade exceptions for Iggy. another scenario battier's contract would have to be included (but maybe they could do the trade and cut loop hole)... maybe we'll have to add one or a mixture of our young talents (budinger, hill, patterson etc...)
either way i think morey will conjure up a reasonable set of pieces to bring iggy to houston. iggy to houston is good move.

Re: Andre Iguodala?
I'm definitely down for Andre. The big question is...what do we give up? I know everyone likes to hate on Martin, but I really think he is an amazing scorer on the offensive end. There is no way that he is outscored by the opposing SG, despite his bad defense. I would not want to trade Martin if that's what it takes to get Iguodala.
However, we do have a lot of other pieces to offer. Budinger (would rather keep him also), Battier, Hill (would like him to stay as well), Jeffries (expiring contract) as well as lots of draft picks. I think that some combo of those pieces would be enough to land AI.

Rockets
PG - Brooks/Lowry
SG - Martin/Lee
SF - Iguodala/Budinger
PF - Scola/Hayes
C - Yao/Miller
Reserve: Songalia, Smith
Looks pretty damn good to me.

I would give up Bud in a heartbeat. I'd rather keep Hill, but i doubt Philly would let us keep him in a trade. I think we would have to give up Jeffries, Hill, Budinger, and 1st rounder. Anyone know exactly how much a 1st rounder is worth in terms of trade?

what do you mean by that?! its doesn't really have a dollar value if your talking about money. its value is that it's worth a player in the draft. the value of a specific draft pick differs with each team.

I like that lineup but I doubt we'd be able to get Iggy with just Battier, Jeffries, and Hill. I don’t think they'd value Battier much higher than Jeffries unless they plan to trade Bat for value to another team.pr0wler wrote:I'm definitely down for Andre. I'd be all for Jeffries, Hill, and Budinger (+ those extra 2nd rounder’s) for Iggy trade. But when we start talking about trading 1st rounder’s, that’s when I start to have a problem. As of now, we have the seventh worst record in the league. IMO even with Iggy we're not top 3-4 in the West. And if by the end of the season Yao indeed turns out to be finished, we would become a trendmill team that’s not good enough to contend and not bad enough to draft a new franchise player. On top if that we'd still have Iggy and Martin's big, long contracts. I would not want to give up most of our assets if we haven’t shown that we're close to contending. Hell, going by our record it’s hard to make a case that we're even competing.
IMO Iggy alone won’t push this team over the hump. Maybe a team that’s not far like the MAVS, but not us. The most I'd give for Iggy is Hill, Jeffries, Budinger, and maybe the Knicks 2012 1st. Anything more than that I'd say keep the overpaid non-star Iguodala and just rebuild with our young players and draft picks.

Why? Yao for Iggy doesn't make us any better. All it does is lock up our cap for an extra $56 million. I’m cool with letting him play out the year. If he doesn't reinjure his foot, try to resign him to a much cheaper contract in the off-season. If he does reinjure his foot, he'd probably just retire as Houston Rocket.

I agree, if we give up our 2011 first rounder and we still suck we have no pick in the draft to improve further. I think trading either our 2012 pick or NY's 2012 pick would be ideal because we would still have a pick in that draft and our pick and NY's pick may be lower next year anyways.

Re: Andre Iguodala?
Get a 3rd team involved and ship out Martin, Jeffries and whatever
AB / Lowry
Lee / Battier
Iggy / Budinger
Scola / Hill
Yao / Miller
Bench and Starters are balanced offensively and defensively

it's better to start Iguodala at SG and start Battier or Budinger at SF

there's no way we get iggy and keep martin. yao will be a rocket forever, we just signed scola and lowry. martin, brooks, jj, shane, bud, hill should be the trading pieces.

Re: Andre Iguodala?
Ahhh this is a hard one. Iggy is exactly the type of player we need, if i was most teams I'd say no, but since we already have shooters around him I think he'd be a perfect fit especially with all the cutting involved in adelmans system. The only problem is 1) what are we giving up and 2)the price. While I want a player like him very bad i don't know if he's worth the money especially if we are going to resign Yao(which is comical to me by the way). Idk we will see, the thing is he's not a star and we need more than just one player to take us to the next level

Re: Andre Iguodala?
Besides Landry, the only Non Rocket I want to see us go after.
Iggy would be perfect in Houston.
Are we able to give up the provisional 1st round pick from NY as part of the deal?
Give them Jeffries, Budinger, 1st round pick and exception?
I can't be bothered doing trade checker.
