Pops please stay longer with the team

Don't retire when Duncan is gone... I love your brand of basketball and it would be very depressing if you were to leave the NBA.. Prove to everybody you can win championships without Duncan.. the Spurs are great at picking talent anyway..

It will be a sad day when Pops hangs it up, but I'm enjoying the ride while it lasts.

As a Hornets fan that has had to watch my team face Pops' 4 times a year for a while now, I can say with confidence he is the best coach in the game right now and has been for a while. Really respect Pops and will miss him when he's gone (sort of, I want my Hornets to win though :p)

Pops is one of the best in my opinion and the only reason I say one of is because of JSloane and Glenn Rivers. Sloane has never won it but that's only because he's never had the best team.
Doc was masterful last year. I don't think any other coach could have lead the Celtics with in three minutes of a championship.

Phil is a farce. He's learned how to coach over the years. No one talks about the championship blunders while a Bulls coach.

Well, if Pop don't retire soon, Coach Bud might get snagged by another team.

I think Pop said that he was retiring when Duncan retired, which seems appropriate.

What do you guys think Pop will do once he retires from coaching? I think he'd make a great commentator, he's got a sharp wit and would be good in that role. Not sure he's pursue it but I think he'd be good at it.

I heard that he owns a vinyard and apparently he's quite the wine connoisseur, so i'm guessing he'll do something with that. But I do agree he would make a great commentator.

He might be lucky (for having TD and a classy man in David Robinson, willing to reduce his role for the team's sake) but you have to admit he's a hell of a coach.
I used to have doubts about him being great for reasons above but right now, I don't. Just look at him reinventing the team. The motion offense was fun to watch and they're winning games. He was able to utilize every single player's skill on the team.

George Hill was a 20 something pick and he's doing great. Dejuan Blair was a 2nd round pick and is doing fine so far. Tony Parker was a late first round pick and is playing great. Manu Ginobili was the 57th overall pick and is now schooling everyone he's playing against.

Man I'm a big time Suns fan but I'll definitely miss him when he's gone. He truly is a great coach. Hands down HOFer.

And this is my 1000th post. I know the Suns won't win anything this year so I'll be rooting for the Spurs or the Bulls to win the championship.

Yeah I remember hearing the same thing. Guess he'll kick back and enjoy all of that. He seems like the type that once he walks away from the league, that'll be it. We won't hear from him again.

Yeah.. and how old is Pop? He looks really old and he started his coaching career at a late age. I think he's in around 60-65 years old. I really don't think he'll walk away and come back again to another team or whatever. It looks like when he retires, he's gone. And i sure doubt we see him on the TV booth.
