At this juncture, Felton does make a case for the ASG, albeit not a strong one. It's still too early in the season to even be having this discussion. The Knicks have a difficult schedule coming up, and if Felton continues to put up the same numbers with a solid team record, then his case will strengthen considerably.

That notion is not stupid because based on stats, record and importance to the team, one can make a case for both Felton and STAT making the All-Star game. In the Magic's case, they have one player who is not only playing like an all-star, he's also playing like the league MVP.
