Technically, humans from Earth were from Earth, the ones on the other planets were kidnapped from Earth and taken elsewhere. However, I suppose you could say the humans on earth, weren't there to begin with and were seeded and cultivated as life by the Ancients. I think that's what they said happened. I saw all of Stargate at one time so it's kind of a blur as to what was what. -Jitpal

The humans on Earth within the Stargate Franchise are the second evolutionary descendants of the Ancients (Alterrans) who arrived from Atlantis (which was their 2nd time on Earth, since in the 1st they had departed for the Pegasus Galaxy to get away from the Plague).

--Mags

Right and not wanting to get into a nerd-off here, humans origin world is still Earth. Just because they were engineered using alien DNA does not mean the humans aren't indigenous to Earth.

Talking about this, I really feel like re-watching a lot of it. -Jitpal

Giant Stealth Planet May Explain Rain of Comets from Solar System's Edge
Our sun may have a companion that disturbs comets from the edge of the solar system — a giant planet with up to four times the mass of Jupiter, researchers suggest.

A NASA space telescope launched last year may soon detect such a stealth companion to our sun, if it actually exists, in the distant icy realm of the comet-birthing Oort cloud, which surrounds our solar system with billions of icy objects.

The potential jumbo Jupiter would likely be a world so frigid it is difficult to spot, researchers said. It could be found up to 30,000 astronomical units from the sun. One AU is the distance between the Earth and the sun, about 93 million miles (150 million km).

Thought this was cool.

Apparently Nasa will make this announcement today. This is somebody leaking the info early.

http://gizmodo.com/5704158/

Hours before their special news conference today, the cat is out of the bag: NASA has discovered a completely new life form that doesn't share the biological building blocks of anything currently living in planet Earth. This changes everything.

At their conference today, NASA scientist Felisa Wolfe Simon will announce that they have found a bacteria whose DNA is completely alien to what we know today. Instead of using phosphorus, the bacteria uses arsenic. All life on Earth is made of six components: carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen, phosphorus and sulfur. Every being, from the smallest amoeba to the largest whale, share the same life stream. Our DNA blocks are all the same.

But not this one. This one is completely different. Discovered in the poisonous Mono Lake, California, this bacteria is made of arsenic, something that was thought to be completely impossible. While she and other scientists theorized that this could be possible, this is the first discovery. The implications of this discovery are enormous to our understanding of life itself and the possibility of finding beings in other planets that don't have to be like planet Earth.

This is IMO an off-set of the Nemesis Theory (for those who don't know about it, Google it you'll enjoy the read), and the idea that we are really a Binary Solar System (hence the large amount of Planets that we have).

Thanks for the link, I love these type of theories. Any more REVOLVER?

cool story, but 30,000 AU is a crazy distance. That's half a light year. That'd be neat if it's true, but it's hard to imagine something that far out. Pluto's 40 AUs on average. They're talking about nearly 1,000 times further away than pluto and still orbiting the sun. That's pretty wack. It reads like science fiction more than fact.

So basically now there is more incentive to give more of our tax dollars to NASA.

Lovely.

I don't understand this. If the planet was 4 times bigger than Jupiter, shouldn't it radiate heat? The pressure would be so huge that the temperature of the core should radiate more than enough fo us to detect. Every outer planet in our solar system radiate more heat than it absorp, why would this be an exception? Especially if it's bigger than every outer combined.

NASA is dumb at times. Common sense and logic would dictate that life in the Universe would try to use whatever materials are nearest in abundance to create life. Carbon just so happens to be one of the core's in our area, but other areas could have Silicon, or other building blocks (as this Arsenic Life Form shows).

If it's out of the reach of the Sun's range for that but still within range of its gravitational pull (or if we are a Binary System indeed, then it could be roped in from the the potential companion Star), then it might not have enough internal heat from its core to exert that much noticeable force beyond the Oort Cloud (other than fling them towards us as the Article suggests).
