Because Kobe is the flat out better player, leader, and more important to the franchise.

He will be the most valuable when it counts: in the playoffs. A guy that puts up 20/12/4/2 a night on 53% shooting has gotta be the first option. Especially when Bynum gets back to take some of the pressure off him...the Lakers are the only team I don't want to face in the West tbh..

Without Pau, no rings in '09 or '10...

Without Kobe, no rings in '09 or '10...

much like the '02 'chip...no Kobe, no ring.

^^Nash got 2 MVPs so...

But I think it downgrades the value of the Prize when you award it to players that are mediocre defensive players.

I understand KB24Illmatic's frustration but seriously DCash is right.

Pau shredded that label this past June.

I think the right word to describe Pau today is Unmotivated.
I know alot of people don't want to hear the Lakers aren't playing with alot of passion right now because of it being early , but it is what it is.

No Excuses for our past losses . We deserve it for our performance.

It's hard for a team who reached the Finals three straight years to play with a huge intensity for a game on the first week of December.

It's not a pretty picture but it happens.

it was mostly kobe haters who thought pau was the mvp. he has shown that he can't keep up that level of play for an entire season without these probloms imo. that being said he is still the second most important player on this team, and unless bynum comes back and plays at an all nba level the rest of the year and the playoffs we will need pau, come playoff time.
Only on realgm is 27,000 points, 5 rings, 1 rs mvp and 2 finals mvp considered overrated!
