Dec 15 coming up

Post#1 » by HolyToledo » Fri Dec 3, 2010 5:35 am

Dec. 15 is when all NBA players, including those that signed a contract in the off season, are subject to trade. Teams have basically 2 months to make a trade. Should the Jazz go for it all by trading for a star SG? It would likely take Memo and Hayward or at least Memo and rights Tomic.

J-Rich? Monte Ellis? Iggy? Do these players make the Jazz appreciably better for players not currently playing any minutes on the current roster. Their minutes would be taken away from Watson and Price and Bell who have all played well but are clearly not the offensive threats of these players.

If I were KOC I would like to see how we play in Dec and January and make a decision to likely go for it by looking at J-Rich even though it costs our future in Hayward.
Top 4 seed in the West!!! Guaranteed!!!

To put this in perspective, would you trade Millsap for an injured big, who is most likely past his prime anyhow, and an unproven kid?

It takes two to tango. Who in their right mind would trade Memo for STAR sg? J-Rich isn't a star anymore and probably never was really one. Monta is more of a pg. Iggy is a wing/sf and not sure he would work out.

A team who is rebuilding such as Philly or soon to be Phoenix.

Personally I would love to see Iggy here in Utah...I'll pass on J-Rich and Monta. Monta has such a huge head anyways, he wouldn't fit the chemistry of the team at all. Would probably want to start at PG and have Deron come off the bench... J-Rich is just too old for me. We already have good vets on this team and I don't see how he could really help us other than chuck up some 3's.

Iggy would be the perfect fit here in Utah but to get him you would probably have to give up AK or Miles along with either Hayward or Okur.

Not sure if it's a good idea to mess with the teams' chemistry anyways, we are playing great ball and I would hate to see a trade screw things up.

I knew we shouldn't have hired King Solomon to be our GM.

I could see Ellis on the Jazz and doing really well. I would be very excited if this happened. But the cost of this transaction will more than likely not be worth it.

The only tradeable asset we have is AK. Everyone else is too valuable for their price, or too undervalued because he hasn't gotten playing time. I mean, no ones really untouchable, but they don't add up to a trade for one of the guys on the block.

I'm kinda liking what we have, Unless it is an absolute no brainer, I see no need to mess with things.
There are already a bunch of new faces that are just starting to come together.
I would like to see how things go for a year and then make changes if needed.

We had a really good young starting SG in Matthews that we let go becuase of money issues. What makes you think that KOC will make a move that will bring back that much salary. I don't believe that our SG is what is going to make or break a championship this year anyways. It will come down to how our bigs are able to compete with the Laker's bigs.
