I would like to point out that we are rebounding much better WITHOUT Troy Murphy. Perhaps "elite rebounding" (which I wouldn't describe Randolph's production as) isn't what we need at the PF spot.
I'm still on the Nene side of this fence.

Don't be too quick to shoot it down. I heard Larry loves him some Z-Bounds.
Really?

Nene would take up a lot of space and allow Roy to be a better rebounder. McRoberts doesn't occupy a lot of room down there, guys seem to be getting around him...
I like Randolph a lot for fantasy purposes. I'm fine with Randolph being on someone else's team. I don't like Zach Randolph on my favorite team.
I had no idea he was from Indiana. Thanks for that bit of outsider trivia.

I think Nene is a better fit for the team then Zach. I'm still not convinced he's not a true headcase.

Re: Nene?
Indy should trade some of their expirings for Iguadala.
A perimeter combo of Iggy-Granger would be awesome.
Granger's perimeter game and Iggy's slashing would look good and Iggy can shut down the other team's top perimeter player on any given night. Philly is in full rebuild mode and would likely trade his salary for peanuts.
Yea, he's overpaid, but Indy's not getting any top-5 picks in the next few years and drawing in star talent via free agency is easier said than done.

Re: Nene?
I think Nene would be a great fit for you guys. Obviously this assumes he opts out (I think he will in order to gain long-term security) and that Indiana is a destination he'd like to end up in... I'd imagine he'd command in the region of 5 years $55m.
Even if you include his $11m salary I've estimated, you'd only be sitting at $48m guaranteed salaries for next season. Posey expires when Hibbert is due for an extension, making that easier to handle too.
If it all panned out, with Collison, Rush, George and Hibbert reaching their potential, you guys would somewhat resemble the title winning Pistons - no All NBA Players, but a solid roster, all of whom are good offensive and defensive players.

There is no consolation prize. Winning is everything.

Re: Nene?
Nene isn't good at protecting the basket but he plays solid physical man defense. He is athletic and explosive, making for an excellent finisher on the p&r. His jumpshot extends to about 15 feet. His most underrated aspect is his post game. The guy is a skilled scorer down low, though it isn't often utilized in Denver.
I don't understand where the concerrns about Nene's game (his defense in particular) are coming from, seeing as how he is the perfect complement to a guy like Hibbert. He would probably elevate Indiana from a .500 team to a near 50 win team imo.

Hibbert and Collison are relatively young---I think they have all-nba caliber potential. However, there are many young quality PGs in the league right now and even more high school/college prospects. That will definitely limit Collison's chances in the future. After Dwight, the center position is wide open.

Re: Nene?
Collison is a decent starter.
If he ever wants to be great he needs to understand that there are a lot of options, at least two or three better than him, and that there is only one distributor - him. I do not see him right now as the pass first option I was hoping for. 4 1/2 assists is just disappointing. I want at least 6.
I also think he can improve his defense.
Too many turnovers.
He's young, may get better. Right now he's just ok.

Don't expect that many assists out of this system. He's a much better passer than the numbers show.
But he definitely has a ways to go.
