Really bad ass gamethread man! Much props and respect. I really hate playing at the Palace cause we just don't play well there historically. A major reason had to do with how good those Detroit teams were back in the day, but still. This game will probably be tough in the sense that we just played these guys earlier in the week and we have the Bucks the following night. Our ability to close out teams is starting to return slightly and I am really confident that we are about to start playing some great basketball going forward.

Our next victim is the Detroit Pistons... LET'S GET IT!!! 8-)

EDIT- Damn I just went through and read some of the posts that Dwight and Jameer are probably out due to the stomach flu. Well that means that Gortat, Carter, Lewis, and Bass need to step it up tonight. It is going to take a team effort to get this victory.

we could do this:

Duhon/Williams
Carter/Peaches
Q/Peaches/Shard
Shard/Bass
Gortat/Anderson(stretch 5 anyone??)

Carter and Shard need to man up this game.

They said Jameer is 50/50. Relax.

Don't worry, Gortat always goes into beast mode when he gets to start.

I'd run this lineup:

Duhon/Williams
Carter/Pietrus
Q/Carter(let him play 3 with the 2nd unit)
Rashard/Anderson
Gortat/Bass

We might see Malik Allen!?

I'm a little worried now about this game. I really hope VC and Shard step up. But, this is Gortats time to have a breakout game.

Got that right on, most important players are Gortat, VC, Shard tonight.

Lets hope they don't run the halfcourt zone/trap/doubleteam craziness from the first half last game. Hamilton can't handle carter though. And Bass is a reasonable backup C given the Piston's lack of scoring from that spot.

FYI:

Because of a stomach virus, Howard, Nelson and Redick did not participate in the Magic's shootaround, which ended minutes ago at The Palace of Auburn Hills.

Stan Van Gundy said Howard was "very, very ill this morning, throwing up and everything." The coach said Howard is "very doubtful" for tonight's game.

"Barring a miracle, I would think that he'd have trouble playing tonight from what [athletic trainer] Keon [Weise] told me about where he was this morning," Van Gundy said.

Nelson started to get sick as the team left its hotel for the arena this morning. Van Gundy said "there's a possibility he'll play."

Redick missed Wednesday's game against the Chicago Bulls because of the illness. Redick attended the Magic's shootaround this morning, but Van Gundy said Redick is "50-50 at best" to play.

For what it's worth, Van Gundy said he feels fine himself.

But that gave him little consolation.

"I'd rather me be sick," Van Gundy said.

Looks like Dwight is out to me. Jameer just started feeling ill but see what happened to Jordan every time he started feeling ill, he would have a 40 point game. JJ seems like he was feeling better and shot some today, so you never know if he may just fill in for 15 minutes. Will see at game time.

If JJ is still sick, keep him the F off the court. I don't want him huffin and puffin and sweating, passing his viral particles to everyone getting a pass from him.

And I hope Stan has the brains to put the ball in VC's and Shard's hands all night. Jersey Vince has had some good showings in the palace,
and I expect a ~10 assist performance from him hooking up our bigs all night

I would assume so considering Malik Allen is absolutely terrible.

I say the rest of the Magic players get into "Let's give a good effort with our star out" mode, a la game 6 of the 2008-09 Sixers series.  Gortat with 15 and 12, Bass 18 and 8, Lewis 26 on 5-7 from 3. You heard me!

Actually, this will be an interesting test of the Magic's depth.  Never really gets tested since Howard never misses a game.

Magic will win a blowout tonight.

Detroit won't be able to sneak up on us for the second time in a week.

Not to mention our confidence must be sky-high after playing our best game of the season against Chicago.
