Mariano has more class in his pinky toe than Derek Jeter has in his whole body.

To me, that's a true Yankee.

Really and what has Jeter done that has been so offensive?

DID he get nasty like Cashman did running his mouth off to the press during the negotiations? NO. You haven't heard ONE word from Jeter in response to Cashman.

DO WE EVEN have CONFIRMATION of Jeter's demands (PLEASE don't tell me Matthews is credible)? NO. In fact, Jeter's agent DENIED that rumor.

So STOP IT already.

Yes, it's a business and right now the Captain is a BETTER representation than lippy co-owner Hank & little sniveling prick errand boy Brian "I can scout better than Theo" Cashman.

Seriously dude, break out a tape from1996-2009. Y'know it wasn't THAT long ago he was hitting .334 and every one felt he was untouchable. Geezus...It's like being at the stadium when the fans booed Jeter and Mo then cheering them when the Yanks went to the WS.

AGAIN....BEFORE you lock up a player for number of years, think about those personality ticks. Guess the Sox weren't all too keen on his River Dance.

Best part about that game the Sox won that specific game but from therein, they never posed a threat to the Yanks again...PROOF you don't decided a 162 game season on one game.

Mo was offered more money and more years to play elsewhere. His market value was higher than what the Yankees offered but he didn't force them to up their offer.

Derek Jeter was offered an extremely high contract by the Yankees which was well above his true market value, but he is holding out for more money. Do you really think if he were offered more money elsewhere he wouldn't take it or force the Yankees to at least match it?

Mo is class. Derek is not. Mo realizes the value of ending his career in pinstripes. Derek does not.

Mo was offered the SAME deal with the Red Sox. Don't give me this "elsewhere" bull. It's like Cliff Lee's agent, "Yea we have SEVERAL teams interested..." PULEASE, the nationals? Texas and New York. End of story.

An extremely high contract? Their first offer paid Jeter LESS than AJ BURNETT last season!!!!!

Yea, Cashman showing his smarts representing a world class organization. STAY CLASSY Brian. Just stop already...:D

I can't wait till this idiot bolts for Philly and Stick can be put in place again till a suitable replacement who can SCOUT can be as Yankee GM.

PLEASE do the world a favor and dunk your head in a barrel of cheap beer cause only if you reek of BOOZE can I believe you just said that.

So the Yankees should give Derek a bad contract because they gave a bad one to AJ Burnett? Is that your reasoning?

If a business makes a bad decision, do you think it is wise to make another one, or learn from their mistakes and try to not make it again?

Derek didn't have a bad season, he just had a down season from his usual consistent numbers. Still got his gold glove. Still played his # of games per season. He certainly had a better season than AJ Burnett.

He certainly worth more than AJ even on a down year and deserves to be paid more than AJ. Sorry its not even an argument.

That's not just business. Its common sense. AJ goes out every 5 games, Derek plays more than 90% of 162 games.

And you treat your own better than any mercenary. Its not a Yankee thing, its NEW YORK mentality, us vs. The country vs the world.

Go to the Knicks forum on this board. Its full of retards that treat athletes like disposable fodder on a minstrel show. But that's what the Knicks get for not developing their own talent over a majority of the last 37 years and burning their bridges. Oh and the fact they wear the same colors as the Mets.

The Yankees are not a Wal-Mart so stop acting like the blood of the innocents was spent on Derek because Cliff Lee is going to get 160 reasons why the rest of the country hates the Yankees.

If Derek played football, he would have been cut a long time ago. But since this is baseball, he gets rewarded even though he is in decline.
