When Will Lance Stephenson Get Some PT?
I'm struggling to understand why the Pacers have not played him yet. Does no one else think he could make an impact off the bench?

First we have to answer why Paul George and AJ Price can't get minutes.

Well we're pretty stacked on the wings. Whose minutes you gonna give him? Dunleavy's? George's?
We're trying to win games here, and it's hard to develop your 2nd round picks when you have a team good enough to win games.
If we have some blowouts maybe he'll get garbage time minutes, but that's the only time I'd want him to play.

you can't get garbage time minutes when you are sitting on the end of the bench is a suit. until he shows more in practice, he won't even dress unless there is an injury.

Is it possible they are waiting to see what Lance's legal situation gets resolved?
As for AJ not playing, TJ seems to be playing well(sorry I dont have cable so cant watch the games) maybe they are trying to showcase him to trade him?

I'm pretty sure you're absolutely correct. I called it at the beginning of the season that I wanted to see Ford and Dunleavy get plenty of playing time, figuring they'd do this to showcase our expirings for trades. And they have gotten playing time, and Ford has been very good. I guarantee there will be better teams who are in serious contention, and just need a good backup PG, and will give us something for TJ.

Ya know this might benefit AJ and Lance as well. As well as TJ is playing, we all know DC is good, maybe AJ and Lance are learning stuff in practice so when we do pull a trade AJ is that much better

TJ Ford is shooting terribly right now. He's 36% from the field and 57% from the free throw line, a place where he should be knocking down 85+%. The only thing he's doing better than previous seasons is taking care of the ball. He's above a 2:1 A/TO ratio right now.

Bird is just waiting for the right moment so Lance can show the world his unstoppabilityness.

Would it be worth sending Lance to the D-League
I know the pacers historically prefer their players stay with the team and develop that way but at least D-League gives Lance some PT, maybe for a month or so

Lance is an all-star, not a D-leaguer.

Re: When Will Lance Stephenson Get Some PT?
they said recently that they might send him to the D-League if they had a stretch of so many games (4 in 5 nights or the like) that the team wouldn't be able to practice. my guess looking at the schedule was that they thought about sending him now and didn't.

Real ****. I was so excited to see him play and it hasn't happened. I realize Pacers can make the playoffs but I don't see how it would hurt them if they gave him, 15-20 minutes off the bench.

Lance Stephenson
Hello Pacers fans, I am a Brooklynite and I was wondering if any of you had an insight on what is going on with Lance Stephenson and why he hasn't gotten into a game this season?
He was brilliant in summer league play and I know tat the cocahes seemed high on him. I also know all about the incident this summer, but is there somethigng else going on? Are they just waiting to trade the guy at this point?
Any thoughts or info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

15-20 minutes? That's a ton of minutes. You're essentially benching either Rush or Dunleavy at that point, in addition to keeping George on the bench.
As the coaches and the beat writers have said, until Lance can learn how to guard a chair, he's going to stay inactive. Kid just can't defend anything right now, and it's keeping him inactive.

Sorry, I meant 15-20 minutes in a single game. Just to see how well he does.

Re: When Will Lance Stephenson Get Some PT?
I think, from practice, they have a pretty decent idea of what he'll do. They seem to like the team philosophy this year, and a team model of defense. Right now, according to the coach and the team, Lance would simply wreck that, apparently, and he'll have to put up the effort, and learn how to play defense before he'll be activated.

Re: When Will Lance Stephenson Get Some PT?
It's really a shame. With such offensive ability, I hope he buys in to the idea of taking pride in defending shots soon enough.
