"We got the inside scoop on who the man is and who the person is," Rizzo said. "Jim is a great judge of character and clubhouse presence. He was very flowery in his praise in Jayson on and off the field. He feels, like I feel, Jayson's best days haven't been had yet."

Who's this guy trying to convince?

Does this put Werth deal in perspective? #Nationals will pay him more than all free agents franchise has signed in last 20 years ($122.1M)!

Wow. Again, they probably had to overpay to establish themselves as a free agent destination, but a odd move given that they arent going to be a playoff caliber team for another two years atleast.

Werth just laughed his way to the bank.

Horrible, horrible move for Rizzo.

Mets GM Sandy Alderson to reporters here about Jayson Werth deal: "I thought they were trying to reduce the deficit in Washington"

This is a horrible horrible deal.

If this team was one move away from contention -- maybe, just maybe, you can justify this type of contract. But they're at least two arms and two bats away from being a good team.
