To TOR: Gadzuric + Iguodala
To PHI: Peja + Klezia + Miami Pick
To GSW: Kapono
that way philly sends out more than they take back.
Calderon / Bayless
Derozan / Barbosa
Iguodala / Weems / Wright
Johnson / Davis / Evans *
Bargnani / Gadzuric / Dorsey / Alabi
seems like a playoff team to me.
Philly gets a younger 3 in Klezia, gets a pick and cap relief. Save 9 million next season and get a pick out of it. Seems like a good idea for them.

Minny's TPE is exactly 13 million, the size of Baron Davis' contract. Sweet.
Here is a more complicated version of my dream scenario that might have a better chance of success.
TOR Chris Kaman 11.8
LAC TPE 11.8
TOR Baron Davis 13.0 + Jarron Collins 0.8 + LAC 1st 2011
LAC Jose Calderon 9.0 + Reggie Evans 5.0 + Joey Dorsey 0.8 + TOR 1st 2011 + MIA 1st 2011
TOR Andrew Bynum 13.7 + Luke Walton 5.2 + Sahsa Vujacic 5.4 + Devin Ebanks 0.4 + Derrick Caracter 0.4
LAL Peja Stojakovic 14.2 + Chris Kaman 11.8 + Julian Wright 2.8 + Jarron Collins 0.8 + TOR 2nd 2011

It all really depends on what Philadelphia would take back in return for Iggy... The fans certainly want more than just Kleiza and the Miami pick with an expiring... But for the raps it looks like a good deal... would be even better if that deal followed with a Barbosa for expiring + high first round pick... retain flexibility and the high pick..

Trade barbosa for an expiring and then make a run for gasol. Draft a pg or SF and then look for the other.
Barbosa could go to Indy, lakers, NJ, for an expiring.

Here is a good read (not sure if it was posted already)

Interesting that Peja thought he was going to get traded to Philly for Iggy before he got sent to Toronto. Maybe there is still some leg there, and Raptors can throw in a few more sweetners to make it happen. However, it seems like BC does not want big contracts.. I think it is his mistakes since he sucks at bringing in FAs (overpays them). OJ and Kamen seems to also be on the tables if the price is right.

1. Barbosa for Gortat... maybe Magic would go for this for some added bench fire power.
2. Calderon and Barbosa for Udrih and Dalembert... they need a PG, we need a proper C - plus hes another big expiring contract - Udrih could back up Bayless

If Peja and other minor pieces (Dorsey, Wright, Alabi, 2nd rounders) can net us Iggy, I'm all for it. I don't want to trade him for weems though.

Re: 2010 Toronto Raptors Trade Ideas Thread
Iguodala's contract is already a cap-killer in the current CBA - imagine in the new one. Philly would really have to sweeten the deal to dump the 3 years, $45M remaining on Iggy's contract.
Barbosa, Kleiza and Miami's pick for Iguodala and Philly's pick.
If Philly completely shuts that down, counter with Peja and Miami's pick instead.

I actually rather trade Weems than Alabi and Dorsey. Always a good idea to have 1 C in development, and Dorsey can be the next Reggie Evans if he can keep his cool. Weems is not bad, but no need for him since Iggy will eat up all his minutes, plus he is a FA next season and we won't be able to afford resigning him with Iggy. IMO it only makes sense to dangle Weems, especially his value is probably fairly high (for him).

Re: 2010 Toronto Raptors Trade Ideas Thread
I suggested taking on Iggy and Brand for the chance of getting at Philly's 1st, either via a pick swap option or straight up for ours or Mia pick.
I'm starting to think Raps will finish picking around 10th to 13th again and would be nice to have a high pick.
anyway Iggy has some issues and not sure I'd want him on this young team. If he can accept being a 'part' of it and really lead with his aggression and athleticism on D and control his "i'm a franchise player" mentality then it could work.

What do people thin about Batum?
He's not starting in Portland any more and he can provide some good defense, rebounding, and scoring at the 3 spot. Potential to be a really good role player

About all I would offer is the Miami pick, and I can't see Portland being too enthusiastic about that.

I'de give up more then that. He's better then all of our wings, and at 22 is younger then most of them too. Actually he's probably better then most of our players in general imo.

I don't see the problem of getting a big contract in Iggy... It last 3 years, and in these 3 years I don't see us being able to win championships or sign big free agents.. so With him Andrea, Derozan, Bayless, the 2 young bigs.. Caldy, we would have a very solid foundation already.. We would compete for playoffs for sure, and it would be an awesome result..

+1 I agree
Although Iggy's contract is pretty high, he would be a great piece on a team who needs someone who can create, hit the three and play solid defense. And, he is locked up for the next three years. A good foundation for a team. Pretty much everyone would be locked up the next 2-3 years, young and can grow together.
Sure, we might be able to get a Gasol but whoever does will be overpaying for him. Iggy would looke good on this team.

Re: 2010 Toronto Raptors Trade Ideas Thread
ideally you trade Barbosa for a expiring contract.
- draft Harrison Barnes (seems more likely than Irving)
- sign Marc Gasol to a max contract (having Calderon may also persuade him to come) and a max contract will be the only way Memphis cant really afford it.
Calderon / Bayless
Derozan / Weems
Barnes / Klezia
Bargnani / Davis
Gasol / Johnson / Alabi
+ miamis pick.
pretty fun team to watch and would have an exciting future.

Thats the line-up I want to see. I'll be fine with using the pick on a pg or a different small fwd maybe, but ultimately, thats the team I want to see start next season.

Realistically it would take more than Miami's pick. I don't think Portland trades for draft picks yet, they still have hope that Roy's injury will heal and they are only 2 games back of Phoenix for a playoff spot.
