Hammers: Bobcats Vs Nuggets

Post#1 » by BigSlam » Wed Dec 8, 2010 2:30 am

Gold: DJ
Looked like the best player on the court when he was involved in the play and not iced. Made some massive shots.

Silver: Jax
Pretty well rounded game, but shot poorly and missed big shots/turned the ball over when we needed big shots made.

Bronze: T2
Brought the energy and hustle putting up 16, 4 and 1 on only 15mins of playing time.

I never vote on these things but today DJ deserves his gold hammer. Not Crash or Jax who scored a similar number of points with a ton more FGA and turnovers....

Gold: Jax - good all around game. shooting was a bit off, but hit some crazy 3's down the stretch.

Silver: DJ - Clutch 3 pt. shooting that kept us in the game.

Bronze: Wallace - disappeared in the 4th, but had a nice line.

HM: LB's defense. Holding T2 to under 20 a game.

what no love for McGuire???

Gold - Dj (its his fault that no one else can get the gold hammer)

Silver - Jax 22 shots for 23 pts,

Bronze - TT I truly think niggling injuries have been affecting his minutes.

Jack- Misses open threes, hits contested threes.

Crash-Make your free throws son.

HM: Matt Carroll- Is he gonna be the "We Want Steve" of the Bobcats eventually?

Gold = DJ!

Silver = Wallace

Bronze = T2

EDIT: Wallace got me over 40 fantasy points. League average is 20 a game for starters :)

tough votes tonight. 5 guys hammer worthy, but only 3 to give out... cue suspenseful music, fade to commercial break... and we're back, recap, cue suspenseful music again.

oh HELL no. Alright I've had about enough of this DJ man-love. He looked like the best player on the court tonight??????????????? Billups scored 16 points in the second half. Went 7-7 from the line in the second half and finished the game with 25 pts 5 assists 3 rebounds 4 steals and a block. Also went 11-12 at the foul line and hit 4 threes. DJ finished with 18 points 6 assists 2 rebounds 0 steals and a block. Went 1-1 from the foul line but that was a free technical shot. Otherwise he did not get to the line on his own. Now don't get me wrong, DJ hit some big shots tonight, but they were mostly wide open jumpers which he should make anyway. Whatever DJ scored on offense he gave up on defense. So i don't know how you can say he was the best player on the court tonight?????

You want to know what was great tonight? Stephen Jackson's passing which you did not mention. How could you not mention his passing? He had 4 big assists in the 4th quarter and was making great passes all game and finished with 7 assists. Also had 9 rebounds along with 2 steals also hit some BIG shots. And he did a much better job on defense than DJ. Oh and what about the 3 HUGE 3 pointers he in the 4th quarter??? Guess we forgot about those too? So lets see now.....S-Jax with 9 points and 4 assists in the 4th quarter. DJ 6 points 0 assists in the 4th. Billups 8 points 1 assist in the 4th.

Then you have Wallace who came out with tremendous energy. Without his energy tonight in the first half, we're not even in this game. Crash came out and set the tone right from the start with his hustle and aggressiveness getting to the rim. Granted he did not do as well in the second half stats wise but the team clearly fed off his energy tonight. Big ups to Gerald for coming out and playing to win and not to lose.

And lets not forget about Livingston who hit some nice shots in the first half. Also heard on the radio driving to the game that TT has been gimpy (bad arch or something) and it's the reason why his minutes are down. So I guess we need to relax on the LB hate for awhile because you think he's trying to sabotage this team.

In summary, DJ had a nice game but he really didn't do anything spectacular except make some wide open threes, had a nice pass, got inside a couple of times, but didn't get to the line and couldn't guard anyone. Other than that, I guess you could say his ticket is already punched to the hall of fame. :roll: :roll: :roll:

And yes Slam, you deserve the 3 eye roll for that statement. Funny when your minions follow suit... :lol:

Nice to see we still have some intelligent fans here who aren't petty and appreciate the "little things" that help you win games. Also want to say Diaw did some serious work underneath the hoop tonight. I was watching him and he was really taking a pounding but did a great job knocking people down. And he moved the ball around nice on offense and provided great energy out there especially in the 4th quarter. Good job Boris!

So everybody played well except for DJ hitting some open shots he "should" hit. I don't post on here often but you're anti DJ antics are tiring. I was going to comment on the thread about Jax and Crash throwing him under the bus, but I will comment here. They criticize his leadership and defense but I haven't heard them praise him for actually receiving almost perfect passes where they are ready to shoot instead of Felton's erratic passes. DJ has the tools to be a very solid PG in this league.

I'm not one of Slam's "minions" it's just the same story with you. I normally just lurk on the board and rarely post but you obviously watch a different game. I understand what context you are responding to and in my personal opinion it would be:

Gold: DJ

Silver: Jax

Bronze: Boris

5-11 doesn't cut it from the line and 7-17 for 20 points isn't great either so nothing for Crash. I could go on all day about how the team will never win with him but don't and suck it up instead of hating on his every move. We're lucky he's a relative bargain at his output and contract, but I think he's caught a case of the Willie Beamon's and is feeling himself entirely too much. I would trade him in a heartbeat for an above average SG or C and move Jax to SF for which he is more suited at this point in his career.

DJ has been our most consistent player all year, and his defense will get better once he gets games as a starter under his belt and knows when to go over and under screens. The fact is there are no better PGs out there for the money we are paying DJ that we can succeed in getting on our team. His money to production level will not be matched by any veteran on the block. It's ridiculous the flack he catches for defense on this team our defensive woes are from not having a rim protector. I would love to see the lineups shook up a bit, but not in the form of McGuire seeing substantial minutes like he is now. Your man LB's better days are behind him he's gone after this season more than likely and let's hope he doesn't convince Jordan to trade our young talent before he does. I'm sure if he had his way we'd package DJ, UPS & Hendo for Billups or something similar.

You are entitled to your opinion as am I. I said why Jax had a better overall game than DJ but I didn't see you make any case for DJ deserving the gold hammer...

And you came at me so either back up your gold hammer for DJ over S-Jax or it's just more gibberish from one of Slam's minions.

Oh and welcome to the board. :roll:
