I go Perry Jones right now. Barnes would be a great fit though and if he improves like I expect him to I'd go him

I've seen him twice and he looks like he has some serious talent but something is just missing. Hopefully he turns it around a bit because right now he reminds me of a SG version of Marvin Williams which isn't bad but certainly not someone you want to take with the top pick (or second, sorry ATL).

After that no one is a great fit. Irving is going to be very good and if he continues to progress I don't have a problem taking him and moving Rubio. Perry is like Favors last year. He's not taking over games but you can just see he oozes potential.

That's pretty much the way I look at it too. Barnes seems best fit, Perry incredible long term potential, and Irving looking like the clearest cut pick right now. I doubt we wind up with the problem of who we take #1, but if it's so clear that it's Irving, then I do look to deal Rubio and hope that an Eric Gordon is the worst case option.

Do agree with Krapinsky that Flynn and Webster should have a significant impact in what we feel our biggest need going forward will be. I do think Wes and Ridnour off the bench would be best and look forward to seeing things line up that way.

Not sure what our biggest need is right now, we'll have to see how Webster and Flynn play. A wing that can create could be a need, depending on what Webster does. Then I also think an athletic 4/5 that can play defense(Perry Jones).

Just read coach K's postgame quotes. He said Irving has a very serious toe injury and might be done for the year. Does this mean he might not declare? Could this be the worst draft ever?

No, he's already proven that he is a great player at the college level and will be drafted in the top 5. The only reason why he would come back to Duke is if he enjoyed playing college ball(or college in general) and wants to stay there for another year.

Agreed, he will jet regardless most likely, he will be a top 3 pick if he declares even with injury.

I highly doubt he will be out all year, season goes into march....I could see 6 weeks, I doubt any more.

Yeah, the year is a bit much. The original reports said a month which makes more sense, unless he tore his toe off or something serious like that.

Terrence Jones is making a legit run at #1 pick.

27 pts, 17 rebs, 3 assists, 2 blocks tonight verse Notre dame.

Kid has just had a STELLAR year, cept the NC game.

He can dribble, post up, shoot from range, rebound. He's the real deal. He looks to possibly be a franchise talent.

No he's not. He's currently a 3 playing the 4 and had the worst game of the season against the only team that he's faced with NBA level athletes at his position. He's good but not franchise good.

I'd take Terrance Jones over Barnes pretty easily

"Take Irving and trade Rubio" is not compatible with "Build a team around Rubio". I remember this kind of threads about Wall, Flavors andTurner last season, And I remember most people here discarded Wall. . Do you want start again with Irving?

And "Take Irving and trade Rubio" is not compatible with "Kahn has a plan".

Perhaps are some people starting to worry about Rubio development?

Of course you would, Barnes has been that bad. But I really don't think Jones is a franchise player or could be putting up similar numbers in the league. He's a lot like Beasley in college; getting his numbers because he's bigger, stronger and more athletic then anyone he's been matched up against.
