AI is better than Beasley right now, but he's also paid like it.

Iggy is NOT a better offensive player than Beas right now, not even close. I've watched quite a few Philly games and he's not (look at his #s).

With that said, he's a better overall player though as his defense, ball handling and passing are better than Beas', but what this teams more than role players, even VERY good ones like Iggy, is a #1 option on the offensive end. Beas might not get there but he's the only one on this team that has a chance, and honestly, I don't see anyone in college ball right now either that has a good chance to develop into a #1 option on a championship team (although admittly with some of the frosh it's just too early to judge).

Iguodala is a better defender but I think offensively it's a wash. Iggy has better handles but Beasley has the better shot. Iggy works better in transition while, from what I can see, Beasley works better in the half court. Passing is Iggy too, but there's not a huge gap between the two players.

Consider this; Currently Beasley's 47% from the floor is better then any season Iguodala has ever had, except his rookie one. Beasley is also shooting 6% higher then Iguodala ever has from the 3pt line, as well as outscoring him in 7 less minutes per game then Iggy's best season. And on top of that, to get his stats Iggy has consistently had to play in the 40mpg range. Even without playoffs that sort of mileage could lead to a huge dropoff as he gets older and I honestly don't think he has the skills, or will ever if he hasn't fixed his jump shot by now, to compensate.

How about we keep Beasley and trade Martell instead? (Along with Utah and Memphis picks, cap space, Ellington, Hayward, Brewer, Telfair, Koufous...)

Rubio-Flynn-Ridnour
Iggy-Johnson-Ridnour
Beasley-Johnson-Tolliver
Love-Varejao-Tolliver
Darko-Varejao-Pekovic

plus our 1st this year...

We can give Beasley and Love extensions, pay Rubio and our 1st, and fill out the end of the bench (13th, 14th, and 15th spots) with vet minimums or second round picks. We will then be paying like a contender. If Beasley, Love, Rubio, Johnson, Flynn, Darko, and Pekovic continue to develop and reach around 90% of their potential, we are contenders.

This will never happen and it is a big gamble, but what else are these forums for, right?

Yeah I think that's one of the biggest misconceptions in the NBA. Vet minimums either give you trash with experience, like Eddie House, or good players who'll leave a year later when they've earnt a bigger contract, like James Posey. Neither are good ways to fill out the team.

This is a serious fail

I meant, "fill out the END OF the bench with vet minimums."

I thought it was obvious because I posted a depth chart with 11 rotation players.
