Birthers are just as dumb as truthers, but that does not make them racist, it makes them odd. Obama doesn't have to be marginalized due to his race, he's marginalizing himself because he's in over his head and has tripled the debt in a little over two years. I'm just sick and tired of the left throwing around the term "racist" anytime something doesn't go their way. It's lazy and inflammatory. Anyway, this thread has run it's course, so I'm done.

The "tripled the debt" meme owes to a complete inability by some to understand the concept of maximum liability as it pertained to TARP, which is now moot owing to the fact that those liabilities are now off the books (at a maximum cost of $50b, give or take, rather than $20-25 trillion). The debt has increased by about $3.5t (roughly 30%) since he took office, but even that's a misunderstanding of the situation given that the budget for FY2009 was passed under Bush, and the fact that the increase in the debt owed not to any substantial increase in expenditures, but rather than the collapse of revenues -- in particular corporate taxes -- in light of the financial crisis.
