Well, Westbrook owned him tonight... this is why I don't consider Rondo that great, whenever I watch him play against likes of Rose and Westbrook, they pretty much own him.

Rondo got a lot of home cooking when the Bulls played the Celts this year. Rose got mugged by him while driving past him for what would have been either the game winning dunk or the game winning free throws if the refs didn't swallow the whistle.

Anyway, if you look at their lines that game, you're right, Rondo did hold Rose down well below his average:

Rose: 18 points, 9 assists, 6 rebounds
Rondo: 10 points, 11 assists, 3 rebounds

I know we like to hype up Rondo's assists, but are 2 assists worth 8 points and 3 rebounds in your book?

Also... what is up with everyone dismissing Rose. He's been having a monster season and at this point has earned his way into the conversation as one of the best guards in the game. 26.6 points and 8.2 assists per game? And tell me where the site is that breaks down stats by quarter... I would not be surprised if Rose is in the top 3 in 4th quarter scoring. He's been absolutely taking over games.

I think Derron Williams is great... I was a big fan of his through college and still am. Chris Paul... terrific. But if you ignore their history and just judge the players by what they have done this season, the argument for Rose is as good as any guard's.

Damn Rondo's FG shooting is now the best of the group lol at .511. I imagine his FT% will return to normal, and as far as 3PT%, I don't really take it into account when a player doesn't even attempt 1 a game, for his career he's like .6 3PT attempts, so who cares if he doesn't shoot that at a high clip.

I hate Rondo so much but man is he fun to watch, and this is coming from a Rose fan. I agree with most posters there is more to playing basketball than TS and PER. Rondo does what is need to win and run an offense to perfection. Its like hes playing streetball out there sometimes with the kind of passes he makes.
