I so desperately want Irving on this team. I've never watched a player so closely in the NCAA in my life. If we don't (and probably won't) find a way to get him I will be very disappointed. There isn't a player/s on this team I wouldn't trade to get him.

Clearly he has not. Irving is the man.

I haven't read through all of this thread but has there been a lot of discussion about the lockout's impact on the upcoming draft?

http://www.nbadraft.net/nba-lockouts-po ... -nba-draft

It would really suck for us to get a top 10 pick and have it be one of the worst drafts since we won the 2006 NBA draft.

Well I dived into looking at prospects for the first time this week

My initial impressions from scouting reports and clips

- It's a one guard draft. Kyrie Irving has the speed, size, and playmaking. Brandon Knight and Josh Selby are SGs in a PGs body which is a huge 'hell no' red flag for me. Kemba Walker has more PG skills, but he's undersized and a junior in college, and he's putting up massive college stats that may mislead people. Doesn't seem like he's as good a shooter as Lawson or Brooks either. More like Flynn

- Harrison Barnes and Perry Jones are 2 and 3 for me for prospects. Barnes has an all around wing skillset and body, Jones is a very athletic PF prospect with skill.

- 3 Euro Cs in Montiejunas, Valanciunas, and Kanter. Even if we didn't have Bargnani I'd say don't risk it, the chance of a faceplant with these 3 is too high. Kanter is the one guy I'd consider cause he seems a bit more of a rugged bigs, whereas the other 2 are soft offense only guys

- John Henson is this year's Thad Young, Al-Farouq Aminu, Anthony Randolph, etc. Long as hell and athletic SF but needs a skill upgrade. Worth a look.

If we aren't in the top 3, the two guys I'd look at are Terrence Jones and Jan Vesely. Jones is a big, strong SF/PF tweener with some good perimeter skills. It'd be nice if he wasn't a tweener but if we're picking 7th or w/e nobody will be perfect. Vesely may get underrated cause he's a Euro, because he doesn't play like one. He's an above the rim dunker. Both guys would fit on our team and with Bayless, Derozan, Bargnani, and the Amir/Ed frontcourt
It's going to be a glorious day... I feel my luck could change

I don't know, if these are the type of guys we'd probably end up with, I think I'd prefer trading the pick.

I think Memphis, Minny, and OKC are potential great trade partners this summer - whether trading our pick, Bargnani, or Derozan.

What exactly have you seen that makes him soft? I've watched a few games, and he lives in the paint and competes hard on defense.

I like Henson. NC is a mess right now. It's hard to really know what he'd be capable of if given more touches on offense. He seems to have some Shawn Marion in his game. He makes a lot of defensive plays in the high post.

Vesely has been so-so in the games I've seen. I think he'll be a good piece on a good team, but I don't know if he'll be a meaningful piece on a bad team, if you know what I mean. Jones looks like a player. I've watched him a couple of times now as well. I wouldn't trust his shooting to keep up all year. He looks really awkward shooting the ball and seems to need a lot of space to get his jump shot off. But, I love his tenacity. We could definitely use that.

I'm on the Terrance Jones hype train. Would be a great SF for us.

Enes Kanter is only 6'9? Jeez he looks taller than that. Hopefully he grows a few inches by draft day.

I dont want another 6'9 center on this roster.

I wouldn't mind Valanciunas on the team although he's ANOTHER project, but he's an athletic hustler and a rebounder, plus you know he's Lithuanian so you know he's probably a hard ass and not soft at all. I've only seen him once but he's a bit like the guy NY just signed- Mozgov, except a number of years younger.

I think Katner will be able to contribute more readily and would be a nice player to feed in the post, but I don't know about his speed at the next level.

Vesely would be great on this team. He reminds me of Kirrilenko, but he's not any kind of go to guy and probably never will be. He just runs and jumps lol.

Haven't seen Kemba Walker or Terrence Jones, but looking forward to it if i do get a chance.

Vesely is a true 6-11 small-forward (not a tweener). I haven't seen him at all this year, but last year in the Final Four he was amazing. I would like to see him on the Raptors, but seeing the bias Toronto fans have against european players, I think it would be better for him to go somewhere else.

Yes Terence Jones has looked good. Only saw barnes once and he didn't look great.

Did anyone watch the last game of Barnes? I missed it due to a cruise trip. If anyone has watched it, please give a game recap of it, I'd really appreciate it!!

Hey guys, Perry Jones had 0 points 2 fouls in the first half but came back to score 15 points in the 2nd half. His game stat is 15 points, 9 rebound.
