Yanks are not getting Greinke because the discussion begins with Montero on the table and with Posada's age that's too rich of a price for a guy who turned down an SI interview because it was overwhelming.

Well, the Yanks won a WS with Hughes in the pen, Joba starting, and Sergio Mitre/Gaudin as the #5.

They're paying AJ to pitch like a #2...they have to lay in the bed they made and go CC, Hughes, AJ...and HOPE Pettitte has one more left in him.

I would wait until Josh Johnson is a FA...cause Seattle ain't letting go of King Felix now he's a Cy Young winner.

Josh Johnson signed a 4 year extension in the middle of this year. Only $39 million, which is a criminally low. -Jitpal

no way can you trade for Greinke. Crazy boy with anxiety problems would get swallowed up whole in NY if he has a few bad outings. guy like that belongs playing in KC or Pittsburgh

I wouldn't touch Greinke with a 100 foot pole. Social Anxiety Order, major headcase who had to take almost a year off from baseball because he couldn't handle the pressure.

Yep. Greinke would potentially put guys like Whitson, Irabu, Vazquez and Jeff Weaver to shame in terms of not being able to handle NY spotlight.

That's absolutely depressing...and the Marlins won't trade unless you let them rape you for prospects.

What's the word on Webb?

Sure he's coming off of an injury but if he's healthy, a one year deal would do wonders mutually. IF Webb is healthy, he can match zeroes...and if he does well as a Yankee, a one year deal would command him big bucks.

One player that would help but mostly as a set up man is Rich Harden who has a vise grip pitching against the Sawx. However he gets injured a lot.

If you're a pitcher coming off an injury, wouldn't you rather get a one year deal in the NL against weaker competition to pump up your stock? In any case, I like Rich Harden. I wanted to get him before the 2010 season. If he is healthy, he is good. He was on the Cubs for a couple of years and so was Rothschild. I think that has a shot at happening late in the winter. -Jitpal
