First post!
Now he will def. be a Knick soon.
My prediction is:
Chandler, Randolph (or pick using Randolph), Curry, Azabukie
for
Melo

^ that's how I see if playing out as well. Donnie knows he needs Gallo's shooting and Field's hustle to make this thing keep ticking. The goal is to upgrade Chandler while moving spare parts and picks. I believe he'll wait until the deadline if he has to. I just can't see him giving up two of those three, unless we were picking up another piece from another team that can fulfill similar roles.

It is a weird situation for Denver. Chandler and Gallo don't want to go there. Do you risk of getting an unmotivated Gallo? Do you risk of getting an RFA? Tough. Really tough. I hope we can get this done without Fields, Gallo, and Chandler. That would be awesome.

wtf...with Melo you don't need Chandler slashing anymore. Gallo's three point shooting will keep defenses honest when one of the big two is on the floor.

Little help here please.
Which mod should one PM to inquire as to why there cannot be sub-topics supported on the forum for the Carmelo Anthony/Knicks situation?
Thanks in advance...

I love how a simple typo has become a trend on this board.
As for Melo, I have my reservations about him. Sure he is a very talented player but at what cost will it take to get him and how will it effect our team are my biggest concerns.
Lately, we have witnessed our longest period of *consistant* success in the last 15 years and to shake up the roster to bring in a player (even one like Melo) will affect this team dramatically.
We have gone over who we want to keep and who we don't mind trading but the fact of the matter is, at least to me if we are going to make a change of this magnatitude, the question should be, will this bring us closer to a championship? I know Carmelo can score points and he's perhaps one of the best at it but at the end of the day, it's the teams that gets the defensive stops that wins the title.
Getting Carmelo will appease the casual fan but for someone like me and many of you all, who has suffered through too many disappointments and falling short in the playoffs, I don't want to be teased again. I want more. I need more. We deserve move.
It's nice to finally have a team that isn't a joke but if we're truely going to be taken serious, we need to get the right pieces that will allow it to happen. Anything less is not good enough for me.

This. Plus Gallo drawing charges will come in handy. Also note that Gallo gets to the line 2x as much as Chandler.

Ayy of them, because they will tell you the same thing: We have Melo Sticky for a reason, which is to not allow the Boards to become flooded with redundant Melo Topics. Meaning there's no need to hit "New Topic" with every idea that pops into one's head, when "Post Reply" will do just fine.

Right now he's still a Nugget, if you want to discuss him in-depth, then please utilize the Nuggest Board.
P.S. This is the same setup that the other RealGM Team Boards (large or small) deploy as well.

i don't see gallo doing anything off the bench the way wil can/has....gallo doesnt put up thet stats as a starter now so what makes u think he can put up stats coming off the bench?

chandler was on a run for six man of the year before MD put him in as a stater....i don't think gallo can be that good coming of the bench. and people argue that melo n will play just alike, witch makes this even more of a reson to keep will. there is nothing wrong with having one melo starting and the other coming off the bench to keep it going on offence....we wont miss a bit

Re: [Camelo Thread] - Update: He's Pushing for Knicks! Part 5
i want melo during the season for 2 reasons
1) we can see how they play and what adjustments need to be made personnel wise (which can be done in the summer)
2) we can make other moves this year to start putting pieces
my final offer like i said last night is CUrry, Gallo, AR or the pick from a 3rd team, and TD
if they want fields instead of TD,then they have to throw back affalo or we take out one of the Gallo or AR piece from the trade
then we can start looking at other deals to add other pieces...for instance, Azu and Moz are 2 expirings (Moz first yr is guaranteed if i remember correctly) that are worth around 6154000 mill, add that 125% 100K rule, and now you can start trying to acquire a big man on a bad contract on a bad team (example, see Varejo on CLE)

I want Melo this season to make sure we keep Chandler. I don't want to trade Gallo though and if we're going to lose Chandler either way, I rather remain with our offer of Curry, Randolph, and a future pick and 2nd rounders. Shoot for the stars.

Decent argument. I could roll with Chandler off the bench. Don't know how many mins he would get with Amare and Melo playing at his primary spots. I just don't like the idea of starting the 3 together...

Well, it's not like Chandler can't play the 2 at times. And having someone of his caliber coming off the bench would be invaluable later on when we're trying to give those guys less minutes.

Thanks for the explanation.
I assumed because multiple sub-threads were allowed on other topics, that there might be some nuance I was missing.
Like how multiple threads arise in reaction to what happened in a game (TKF's "Keys") when they would logically be contained within the game thread.
So because Anthony is not a Knick is the distinction, yes?

I think Chandler's best roles in the NBA are either starting at the 3 or coming off the bench as a guy who could sub in at 2-4. I hate him starting at the 4 though...
