It is unlikely we can keep everyone and get Melo. Even if your answer is to wait until free agency, we would have to lose Chandler and drop other guys in order to have enough to offer Melo a max deal. It's in everyone's interest to get a deal done by February and that is going to cost us either Gallo or Chandler.

The Knicks offense is 13 points better per 100 possesions with Gallo on the floor vs. with him on the bench.

I rather hold tight and risk our offer featuring Curry and Randolph and lose Chandler later on than losing Chandler right now.

I think we trade Gallo trade AR for a 1st round pick. and trade out 2014 pick to the Nuggets for him. I mean unless were contending for a NBA championship team this year, why are people so worried about trading their starting core right now and breaking up the "winning streak"

Because I want to see what we got. I also feel like Denver will have no choice. Use the leverage. If they get Randolph=Gasol, 1st rounder and 2nd rounders = Laker picks, Eddy Curry = expiring contract is a similar deal the Lakers got and that was without leverage.

I just think the Nuggets would rather let Melo go to FA then just take Eddy Curry and picks. They have some leverage too because they know if we dont get him through a trade we cant sign chandler and a center if im correct, and that will be a big part of our depth for a championship run.

im not going to wait for melo to become a FA this year so i can watch them have the 6-8 seed and then maybe have a slim chance of winning the NBA championship with their starting core. I think we trade for melo to build for the future and resign chandler and get a center to make us better the next 3-4 years

I think I know why the Nuggets dont want to romp with us. If They take our picks they are most likely gonna get highe 20 picks if they trade him to the Nets who wouldn't be as good they can get picks higher than that because face it; that team wouldnt go anywhere if they just had Melo and Brook Lopez. Donnie Walsh's initial dal was Gallo, Curry and a 1st. So i think that will be his stance but with tweaks I think he'll switch Gallo for AR and showcase Azibuike to see if he has any value. From there the Knicks could possibly trade AR, Azibuike, Douglas Curry, a 1st, a 2nd and a lil cash and get back Melo and Anthony Carter.

Anthony for Curry, Chandler, Randolph, Walker works and gives them talent.

But I wonder if we can resign chandler in off-season if we don't trade him if we will be maxed out?

Anthony, Carter, Sheldom Williams
for
Curry, Randolph, Azubuike, Walker, Mason

Or ELy instead of Williams but would have to wait till the 28th to trae Ely.

Randolph and Walker are both pretty good players to get. Azubuike if he heals can help them next season.

We get a backup center and PG as well if they can play...

Next season, resign Chandler if we can, we have his rights, right?

Stoudemire / Turiaf / Mosgov / Sheldon Williams or Melvin Ely
Anthony / Chandler
Gallinari / Chandler / Shawne Williams
Fields / Douglas
Felton / Carter / Rautins

Whatcha think?

Its a trade scenario, but i think the nuggets will want atleast chandler or gallo as the centerpiece in a trade, with 1st round picks also

The Nuggets lost their chance at getting what they want before the season started. Donnie Walsh needs to give him what he wants to give them and that doesn't include Chandler, Gallo, or Fields.

If we wait for him to become a free agent, we cant resign chandler or a center. The nuggets have leverage here.

If we trade for anthony, we will not have capspace anymore for the next few years. we will still have chandlers bird rights and we could resign him. why wouldnt we? that improves our depth alot more. Their no point in letting him go if we can just go over the cap to resign him.

I think Gallinari's FT #'s would beg to differ.

People like that don't give a crap about facts that count. Offensively Gallo is provably way better.

So far things have gone the absolute worst they can for the Nuggets. They are in a straight up doomsday scenario. Rumored possible destinations Houston and New Jersey are 9-14 and 6-18, meanwhile we sit at 16-9. Zero point zero percent chance Melo goes to either of those teams over us. The Bulls don't seem interested. So much for "the list." Who's left?

Stick the screws to them Donnie!
