As for giving up Fields, I stand firm and say no. One of the reasons why is simply his contract. He is already "underpaid" for what he's doing right now and he would simply be cannonfodder in a trade proposal.

Secondly, we need guys like himwho can make plays without being featured in the offense and he does things that are needed for team success like tipping balls to teammates, making the pass that leads to an assist, etc.

If Denver trades Carmelo to us and we have to give up our youth, Landry shouldn't be included - sorry.

As long as Amare is your PF/C and D'Antoni continues to go small, you have to keep Fields.

It sounds rediculous to say a 2nd round pick is the breaking point of the deal, but you cannot give up 3/5 of your starting lineup which would include your best 3 pt shooter, your most versatile and best defensive player and your best rebounder regardless of what their names are and where they were drafted.
Amare Stoudamire - check

Chris Paul - on deck

Something I thought was cool, is after the phone call BT was talking about the post game interviews yesterday in the locker room. There was a group around Amare, asking about his breaking the record and all of that. Stat talked for a little about the honor, but as he was leaving he made sure to yell across the locker so that everyone could here "way to pick us up again Ray" to Felton. Just a lil leadership move, subtle compliment to remind everyone that Ray is balling too. I loved that bit.

People Didnt realize All he did in Phx.It was potrayed as Nash did everything for him.It was false, and I tried for the longest to convince the board of this, but I guess they Needed Amare to convince them..... Well Played Stoudemire.

It's not even the fact that D'Antoni continues to play small ball but the contribution that Fields gives to the team in relation to the value of his contract.

Right now we are getting a huge discount from the contribution Fields is giving us. Regardless of he's a second round pick, you don't give up a player like that who will be needed to build a winning team.

And as you said, he is a great rebounder and can be a good defensive player with the ability to get better. And all for the price of a 2nd round pick. You can't beat that...

If this was any other type of situation where both teams can demand exactly what they want, I would be extemely sad to see Fields go but this isn't one of those times.

I don't think you can look at Fields like a second rounder anymore. Contract wise that is his value but his real value is that of a high pick or an important bench player/supporting starter.

I really think that Mayo trade is the other shoe to drop in this Melo situation. We will have a whole new starting 5 on Feb 25

I don't want to play the race card, but there was too much azz kissing when it came to Nash. Sportwriters behaved like he was the chosen one. His MVP from back then is one of the most undeserved. It should belong to Shaq.

Well personally I think the Mayo trade has no real legs. That could change but my read on it is that it's made up not based on actual real substantial interest.

Man, what's up with Douchard always wanting to throw the Chicago Bulls in the mix of any superstar blockbuster acquisition?? It's not going to happen, Broussard.

Would you change your stance on the trade if I told you I really, really, want Mayo on this team? 8-)

you know you are right

i saw, and tbh, honest, still see amare as the bait to attract another max cat (first lbj, now melo)

but its obvious he has so much more to offer than being the bait

If they are using Thabeet to scare Gasol, Memphis is more desperate than I thought. Thabeet sucks.
