PHI - MN - WAS - MIL

Post#1 » by the_bruce » Mon Dec 13, 2010 6:09 pm

MN IN: Kirk, Iggy,
MN OUT: Bassy, Ellington, Ridnour, Kosta, Hayward, Utah 1st, Mem 1st

PHI IN: Redd, YI, Mem 1st
PHI Out: Iggy, Noci

WAS IN: Noci, Ellington, Bassy, Utah 1st
WAS OUT: Kirk, Yi

MIL IN: ridnour, Kosta, Hayward
MIL OUT: Redd

PHI ditches out on commited salary to Iggy + Noci for 20m next season. Gets Yi into a bigger market. Who cares? Pick helps rebuild

WAS Swaps noci for kirk. Picks up a young long range shooter for wall to dish to. They get a pick for doing the lateral Noci to kirk part.

MIL turns redd into some players. Get a backup PG who played well there last year. kosta for added depth. Mil should probably pay something more as they get bunches of capspace for no good reason.

MN upgrades majorly in Kirk and Iggy. Kirk can provide the mentor role to Rubio. Both upgrade perimeter defense.

Darko/Pek
Love/Tolliver
Beasley/webster
Iggy/Wes/Brewer
Flynn/Kirk/(Rubio)

I've always been a fan of Kirk and Iggy but I don't see how there is enough minutes to add both of them.

I could probably talk myself into Iggy although he's got that horrendous contract but I don't want Hinrich.

Darko(30)/Pek(18)
Love(30)/Tolliver(18)
Beas(30)/webster(18)
Iggy(30)/Wes(18)
Flynn(30)/Kirk(18)

Kirk, webster, & brewer can backup the 2
Iggy can backup the 3
Beas can backup the 4

I'd rather have kirk on a 2 year contract for 4m more next year.

Pretty sure we would want (need) Love, Beasley, and Iggy playing more than 30 MPG.

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

18 isn't nearly enough minutes for Webster or Wes. It also is not enough to justify paying Hinrich that much money.

semantics. Throwing in an exact number and multiple position with minutes at each position with variations based upon different lineups is clearly overkill. The point is there are plenty of minutes to go around based on the lineups.

But here....

Darko(28)/Pek(10)/Love(10)
Love(28)/Tolliver(10)/Beas(10)
Beas(28)/webster(1)/Iggy(19)
Iggy(10)/Wes(28)/Kirk(5)/Webster(5)
Flynn(30)/Kirk(18)

I'm all for throwing the what-if scenarios out there, but there is no way a trade this big would ever happen, not to mention the fact that Kahn and Rambis have talked about continuity and this would have us shipping out 5 players. lol

I love the minute Martell plays the 3.

Makes sense to me, let everyone compete for minutes. If it doesn't work make some more trades, plenty of good pieces to work with.

I'd rather spend the $9 mil in cap space and two picks elsewhere.

Hinrich isn't a bad player, but he definitely has negative value with $17 mil left on his deal.

I love the originality, but I think we could get more value.

I'd rather have Hinrich(and his shorter deal) than ridnour + 4m

To me the cap space and picks gets spent on iggy and we get hinrich for 4m more than ridnour.

I'd rather see another front court player competing with Tolliver and Pek. Why have the 3 (4 once Rubio is here) best bench players fighting eachother for minutes when there are lesser players in the frontcourt?

Currently if an injury would occur in the backcourt there are players that can step in and be a viable starter. When Darko goes out our options are shifting beas/love or starting one of Pek, Tolliver, or Koufus? Yuck. This trade doesn't help the roster balance by adding more depth to our deepest positions. We need a third big not two more wings that need minutes.

People are doing a lot of complaining about minute distribution, but i'm pretty sure if we can figure out a way to hoodwink the other teams in this deal to take everyone on our roster who is not a significant player, then we can certainly find a way to make the logjam work.

I'd do it. Seems a bit absurd, but that's appealing to me :)

No thanks. Too much salary for overpaid players, too much given up for said players (2 1sts? Really?) and there's the obvious problem of minutes. It's just not worth.

Give Ridnour a chance too. I know I've been one of his most vocals haters here but the dude needs some time as a backup. If he keeps sucking then, then I'll get back on the trade Ridnour bandwagon. But right now I wouldn't be shiipping anyone out, outside of crap guys like Telfair and Koufos, until the team is fully healthy.
