Braves need to go after Greinke now, certainly have the pieces for him and Moore loves all Braves players.

i find it ironic he went back to a team that dumped him

regardless its obvious he isnt cut out for the big media market of NY, he just wants to be one of the guys...which he will be in that stacked 4 man PHI rotation

U MAD?

Not everyone in the world wants to play for the Yankees.

If you were the Phillies you may have done the same thing at the time. To offer him a contract I'm pretty sure signifies they always liked him as a player.

And now that I think about it more and more as this reality has sunk in....there is NO way the Marlins or Braves can contend for the NL East this year. They've been within 5-10 games over the past few years of the division lead, but now? -- Forget it.

If he turned down the Yankees then it probably wasn't all about the money....

Obv it wasnt all about the money....he didnt want to leave Philly in the first place, im happy he went back to philly....now Sox fans wont have to worry about him tearing up the AL East

Ken Rosenthal is reporting Phillies are sending Blanton to the Red Sox. WTF! This makes no sense....

Ok Deal is being denied... Maybe it was just Phillies wishful thinking... Seems like they are just trying to dump Blanton and the remaining money on his contract to make room for Lee's

Well the Marlins weren't exactly going to contend either way.

LOL @ accusing a pitcher of just wanting to be one of the guys for going to Philly.

Pitchers can never just be "one of the guys." They have to go out to the mound by themselves, on a day when the other starters are all resting, and win games. If Lee doesn't perform, it won't matter if the Phillies are a hundred win team, he'll still hear about it. Same if he had gone anywhere.

Also, I don't understand why people make a big deal out of turning down more money. His offer from the Yankees was worth more from a dollar standpoint, but it has more years on it as well. And New York has a higher cost of living too...higher taxes, more expensive to buy homes in, etc. I think from a money standpoint, his best offer was probably from Texas.

Hey now, we are always close (within 5-7 games) towards the end of the season and then just flounder (pun intended) into obscurity.

WOW.

This is some 90s Atlanta Braves ish. Good for Lee for not just going to the highest bidder. I'm just happy he didn't go to Yanks. What a rotation.

Also an interesting angle is his's son's medical condition and Philly having top notch pediatric care.

I don't much much about either, but heard that on the radio today.

If true I'm sure that was taken into consideration as well.

How do you know he wasn't cut out for it? He did pretty well pitching there in the ALCS and the World Series a couple years ago.

Major sour grapes by Yankee fans.

LOL Bad call on my part. All the reports were saying Lee was all about the money, which obviously wasn't the case.
